Description

asking price for Ben Chiarot is a 2022 1st round pick

if need retention to fit on new team add a prospect B

so my question is what it need to be added here to change that prospect B into Raphael Lavoie ?
for this post i add a 3rd round is it enough?

I personally don't see why to give a 1st for chiarot. That could be used to address the bigger issue with the team which is goaltending. If needing defensive help within the dcore, there is the option of moving on from a guy like barrie and acquiring a Carson Soucy type. Barrie (fortunately for the oilers) does have value due to him proving to be a good PP1 quarterback with a history of point scoring which is valuable to any team struggling with getting points from the blueline/PP production.

I’d rather have Kulak than Chiarot. I would do Lavoie and Koekkoek for Kulak at 925k and a 3rd (MTL has 3).

I meaan barrie has a better track record and a longer one. A team like seattle (who is losing gio) need a PP quarterback and can package him with hometown boy yamo if needed. Justa 1st for Chiarot (who has been awful) is too much

there is no reason to give a 1st for chiarot. If the oilers were going to give that much for him they would have done it when every LD was injured.

I just think there are more cost effective additions out there that have some term. like a soucy who has another year left

Gostisbehere is a PP specialist 3rd pairing defenseman. Barrie is an offensive specialist 2nd pairing defenseman. Big difference between the two.

He did. But with Savoie, Tulio and Petrov doing well he’s become expendable. And if it means selling low on him to make the team somewhat better now and add a mid to late pick in the 3rd round I’m ok with that.
