Kadri should go instead of Mackinnon. Mackinnon has been mediocre this season.

I don't agree with Mackinnon's quote there: it makes sense to have one player from each team there.

Also, Kadri can still make it if fans vote him in, which is a fairly high possibility.

I picked Daniel sprong 60th. Kyle Connor is very underrated. Pure sniper

I drafted 2 leafs, Tavares and Nylander, but I only have Nylander left. I also had Spezza for a little while, but I traded him too.

I was exaggerating but in all seriousness he hasn’t been close to all star caliber this season. His underlying numbers are nothing special , he has been the 4th or 5th best forward in the Avs top 6.

I agree Kadri should have made it (it's crazy that he didn't, he's having the season of his life) and with MacKinnon that the "at least one player from each team" rule is stupid, but MacKinnon has 35 points in 23 games. That's not mediocre at all (granted, only 6 goals, which by his standards is pretty shocking, but still, way above a point-per-game player).

Mackinnon just hasn’t been all star caliber this season, he was considered the 2nd best center in the NHL and so far he hasn’t been close to that , he‘s been an empty calorie scorer for the most part this season.

And since there's no stake at all it's basically a money-move, the NHL can't afford not sending a MTL player (this season) as they would lose a lot of viewers from this fanbase.

To be brutally honest, I think that's the way it should be. If a player deserves to make it, he deserves to make it, and that's it. Adrian Kempe getting selected for the ASG over JT Miller is nuts, as is Keller over Rantanen, as is Suzuki over Stamkos AND Brad Marchand. Think about that: One of Stammer and Marchand (not to mention Barkov) is going to miss the ASG. That's INSANE. (Stammer was 2nd in CAPTAIN voting to Matthews, and he still might not make it. Not normal.)
EDIT: I just checked-Marchand's not even in the Last Men vote for the Bruins, McAvoy is. Brad Marchand, 7th in the NHL in scoring, didn't make the ASG. Unreal.

I have been thinking about it the past couple of days and I very very happy the Ken Holland believes in second chances because if he didn't Puljujarvi wouldn't be a Oiler right now

all star game hasn't been fun in years. the format they've clung onto is so convoluted.

fan voting is so sterilized to the point it doesn't even matter. having every team needing a representative is dumb, for teams like the habs or yotes where everyone on them is so dull and lackluster this season absolutely no one should be even considered.

the all star game and how it's handled is really a microcosm on how poor the nhl is at marketing itself.
