Don’t mind the idea or concept, but this looks pretty lateral move for me. The scheifele trade needs to be a overpay, and the adds need to be younger, to add to the young window or ehlers/Dubois/Connor, need some team control in what is coming back so they can be longtermed or dealt again. Interesting none the less though. Need to shine up scheifele/Dillon/Schmidt and sell high or hold onto. Would be nice to add some size if the plan is heinola/pionk/morrissey going forward. Don’t believe stanley will get beyond a 3rd pairing and samberg probably only cracks second pairing, so severson add would be important going forward. Sask boy probably would stick around.
Boeser is 24 and Woo is 21
We replace a top 6 C (which we might be able to do with Perfetti coming up) with a top 6 RW (which we really need), we get a RHD prospect who’s almost ready to take DeMelos place, and we get a pick.
Scheif is the obvious move to me. He has the value to fix our RW issues, in a couple years he will be asking for a raise which we might not be able to afford, and it’s the culture change this team needs.
As I said in the OP, I’m not sure about the values on the Scheif 3-Way… but I think it’s close.
What we are getting from NYR in an NHL ready C/LW, a very good rookie RHD, a 1st, and RW Kratsov is a good return for Scheif…. It’s what we send for Boeser that I’m iffy on.
VAN needs RD so Lundkvist must be included. I’m assuming they’d like an RW in return to help offset losing one, so Kratsov is going. The issue is the pick and Chytil.
Boeser is a young Phil Kessel style player and he would be dynamite on the RW with PLD and Connor. I like Woo as he gives us depth on our RD, which we are sorely lacking. The pick is the issue here as well.
I, personally, don’t see this as lateral… it’s strengthening a position of weakness with a damn good player.
Put Perfetti between Ehlers and Toffoli or Rakell, and our top 6 is set
