Why? He has been playing very well in KHL. His scoring is up 40% from last year.

"Good young forward prospects and a possible backup to Petersen"?!?!? Wow! What a haul!! Berard is an unsigned fifth-round pick who is behind Othmann, Cuylle and Aaltonen on your prospect chart at LW. Lamb is an unsigned fourth-round pick who is behind Pajuniemi and several other guys who are already in the NHL or promotable at RW. And Garand is your third-best goalie prospect. We wouldn't trade Trevor Moore, a proven bottom-6 forward, for those three stiffs. And you don't even include a 2022 first-round pick in that offer for a guy taken second overall and who has done nothing to show that that evaluation was optimistic?

What an awful, awful, insulting, awful offer that is.

Don't normally see you get riled up, but this post absolutely deserves it. Good on you for calling it out.

For Chychrun with out retention, I think that’s a somewhat ok offer. NYR can do better than that offer. Chychrun regardless starts with at least one of Kakko, Laf, Miller, Schneider, Lundkvist, or Shesterkin. An easier way to say that would be at least one piece that could be considered a deal breaker would be included. With half retention on Chychrun you can make that 2 untouchable pieces plus some 1st round picks. Arizona wants an Eichel like return if they shop Chychrun, and they will get one. Chychrun already costs less than half of what Eichel is being payed, and is a cornerstone piece on the blue line.

Thank God you're not the Rangers GM. They would be the worst team in the NHL.

A center who's top 15 in scoring, under contract for multiple years, and making less than 3 mil is gonna cost you more than a single prospect. It's not the Canucks problem the Rangers consider every half-decent prospect untouchable

Its not the Rangers problem you want a player they have big plans for. JT is all yours or find some other team to trade him to.
