Oh you are new at hockey ?
Weber might become a cap dump for NSH if he stays in MTL. NSH needs to acquire Weber if they don’t want a penalty recapture

Nope not new just smart enough to realize Nashville can do nothing to keep Weber from retiring should he choose to and Montreal can’t force him to retire.

These Montreal fans think that Nashville has to get Weber on their roster or else we’ll be hit with massive recaptured penalty. Here’s the only 2 things that can happen. Most likely Weber stays on ltir for the remainder of his contract because if you’re eligible for ltir why give up free money. And for the people who are like the last 3 years are only a million so he’ll just retire. Ain’t no one in the right mind just gonna give up 3 million dollars because they want to retire for no good reason. So he’ll stay on ltir for the remainder of his contract. Number 2 for no reason what so ever he decides to give up free money and retires. In this scenario it doesn’t matter where he is Nashville will get hit with the recaptured penalty. So in no Scenario will Nashville pay to get Weber back so please stop

Also for those that think the league will crack down on ltiretirement. Him being in Nashville would make things even more suspicious and draw more league attention. He either retires in Montreal or he LTIRetires in Montreal.

I really think Weber will LTIRetires, but let’s say MTL offers him a job in the office, he might retires, which NSH will be hit with the cap recapture. But if NSH trade for Weber (but not paying prime assets), then he’s gonna have less chance to receive an offer from MTL to be in the office. Anyway, I’m 95% sure nothing’s gonna happen, but it could be. I just wanted to point out Weber isn’t a cap dump because he is going on LTIR.
