It's pretty simple that Toffoli would return a better package then that. Even when a team is rebuilding teams have to still outbid other teams for the player they want.

I find it funny how he says its because the habs are rebuilding but very conviently leaves out that Edmonton is in free fall right now and is far more desperate of the 2 teams to make a deal. The habs can hold onto Toffoli if they want to.

I think Ottawa would rather keep Brown if that's the best offer on the table.

Dont think a 3rd and a cap dump make up the difference between Yamamoto and Brown.

No, Elliot Friedman report Ben Chiarot is likely bringing a 1st RD pick back at the TDL. Before Friedman reported that, not a single Habs fans traded Chiarot for a 1st RD pick. But Friedman and LeBrun knows more than you

id probably do that as the sens but not sure why the oilers would. they should be looking to straight up add to their roster imo not make a lateralish move

Montreal isn't in rebuild mode, there has not been an announcement as to what the plans are. Considering the number of players signed to term, a full rebuild is unlikely. So unless you have some inside contact with the future GM, you are just speculating like everyone else.

That's not getting you Connor Brown.

Try again.

I personally think that this offer for Connor Brown is a bit light.

Ottawa can get something better for him IMO.

I did, based on the Savard to TB trade. Not all 1st are equal.

I'd have absolutely ZERO interest in that trade

Why?

First, Melnyk would reject the trade when he sees Kyle Turris name on it, without even looking at the rest.

But let's say you ignore that... you're basically trading Brown for a 3rd and a younger Ennis

Sens have zero need for Yamamoto

Upgrading Yamamoto to a player like Connor Brown is exactly what Edmonton needs to do. If they can "dummy" Dorion into it, congrats but they wouldn't be the firsts lol

Yes but you explained it with the Savard return, and that it would be an overpay. You didn’t trade Chiarot meaning (yep, he is worth a 1st Rd pick) lol
