Description
1st round picks based off projections by NBC sports
This does not include any free agent signings they can make with the 40+ mil in cap space they have this summer
devon Levi is on pace to have the greatest season for a goaltender in NCAA history
I realize they have been in a rebuild for the past 13 years lol but this legit makes a guy excited about this team
Wondering if they get a top two pick in this years draft if mittlstadt becomes expendable?

I don’t really know what the problem is, but it runs deeper than prospects. I’m sure everyone was saying the same when they drafted eichel. How long before they’re contenders/how long before the next crop is asking to be traded? Could go either way.

Oh I agree, not one of the players above would even be considered the calibre of eichel, but I just think it depends on who they surround the better players with this time around. Stop trading first round picks for players like montour or colin miller, grow from within and use your cap space to overpay dmen on 1-2 year deals not long term.

Everyone knows what the problem is - bad management, it all starts with this.

Now everything looks good (cautious optimism), from the point of view of the future, only if Adams does not break loose and does not trade for the next Bogosian and Evander Kane by handing out picks and prospects.

How many management groups have been in charge since they last won a playoff series?

Very true, with the analytical approach they seem to be taking by hiring staff such as karmanos I dont think that will be the case. As well, we dont have ralphy kruger behind the bench ruining players

I mean owners who hire bad management, and then they decide some hockey issues themselves.

The old "picks for junk" trick.

All too common on this site.

        Ottawa declines.

        Try again.

After so many years, they might just be lucky enough to hire a good GM in Bills.

Because all these hires in Buffalo have been disastrous and terrible in recent years. I was furious when I saw that they hired Kevyn Adams instead of Botterill, at first I thought it was a joke. Now I already look more positively and optimistically at this, he does a lot of the right things and basically I like his trades (except Hall to Boston) and his drafts, also the analytical department of Buffalo is now one of the best in the league, and before he was not even used.

the owners care TOO much about the sabres and are TOO involved. kim pegula is the team president. they need to be more hands off like they are with the bills

Love the direction Adams has this team headed in already, I really think he's building it the right way.

Also, love your 3 picks next summer - I'm working on an AGM and had exactly those 3 picked out! Great minds. cheers

However, I don't see them all on the NHL team next fall - maybe none of them, TBH. Which isn't a bad thing at all, it gives them time to develop and it gives us a chance at another top-5 pick in the phenomenal 2023 draft, where there's potentially 3 or 4 "1OA" guys available. Snag one of those guys and this club will be in contention sooner rather than later. I'd target 2023-24 for getting into the playoffs and I don't think we look back from there.

For sure they wont be except maybe savoie and that is a big maybe because of all the rookies they will already have playing. I just wanted to put them in so people could give their prediction on how long it will take this team to break out!

i think the 2023-24 season they'll start to make some progress, with their goalies and 2021 draft picks coming into the league and with power, quinn, krebs, cozens and peterka playing more nhl minutes. the only glaring need in my mind is a top 4 RD so hopefully they can get one in the draft this year or next year. i really like a lot of the guys they have tbh. i could see them making the playoffs in 2024-25.

I agree, do you think they can sign one in free agency? possibly manson on a 3 year 6 mil?

In my AGM (23-24) I'm waiting a year and then signing Weegar. Manson is too 1-dimensional and I don't actually want to improve our draft position prior to the 2023 draft.

Also, don't sign contacts that are not tradable just because we have the cap space. Manson at $6M is not a tradable contract.
