Time to play the kids, Pitlick is in the doghouse and Zadorov is an AHL d man, I think you can easily flex Lewis and Richardson to taxi squad. Ritchie still there because he’s a god send

No he hasn't. Statistically he's having one of his better seasons and has been a good fit on the bottom pairing. His decision making is suspect at times and he's not good enough to make up for the mistakes but Flames fans want to hate him so bad because he's not Valimaki but he's been a perfectly fine bottom pairing D man.

This is a mess. Phillips is never an NHL'er, Valimaki has shown that his hockey IQ is not near NHL level yet and in the least shocking turn of events he's hurt again. Pelletier is an undersized guy scoring in the AHL, why rush that to the NHL?

I’ve always liked his game I’ve just haven’t been able to watch many flames games this year. I think he’s a good player but I think his price tag might be the reason for the hate similar to marner in Toronto. If marner was making 8 million he would he adored in Toronto

why bring in the young guys, the AHL exists for a reason, for these players to be developed. If not, they will be wasted and end up being traded for low value.

this is just simply incorrect. Tanev had the 3rd best WAR in the league for a D in the calendar year of 2021, and he’s literally the best even strength defensive defenseman in the league (or he was, I think weegar might have passed him, but I think he’s still top 2). Andersson was 8th among D in GSVA in the league around the quarter mark of this season, he’s been world class this year. Both the Hanifin-Andersson and Kylington-Tanev pairs have consistently ranked among the best D pairs in the league in most metrics, and they obviously play big minutes against tougher competition. Zadorov is big and physical, and okay defensively when it doesn’t involve turning or skating, but terrible at moving the puck and liable to get burned by anybody who plays in the top 6 and can skate faster than an average beer leaguer. He’s an okay 3rd pair guy getting paid at least 2.5mil too much to take away a roster spot from a young player who actually deserves the ice time (i’d much rather see valimaki or mackey there honestly)

2021 yeah, but so far in 2022, during our losses, Zadorov was the best. Sutter brought Zadorov here for playoffs, valkimaki has no experience. Sutter knows what he's doing, and in sutter we trust

that’s also not true. zadorov only averaged under 17 mins atoi during the last 4 games (which is also a ridiculously small sample size), but even in that limited sample size where the hanifin-andersson pair has had a little trouble, the kylington-tanev pair has been miles better than anything zadorov could ever hope to do
