CAR deal is a huge mistake imo. Skjei doesn't warrant such return and that pick would likely be very high.

That is a massive overpayment on Brady Skjei if the last trade for him taught us anything.

Also, you can get Kravtsov using only Tampa's 2nd, based on the trade for Lias Andersson.

There’s a much better chance of Kravtsov playing for the Rangers when his KHL season concludes than the Rangers trading him for just a 2nd round pick.

The only way I could see Drury trading Kravtsov for just a 2nd is maybe if it’s day two of this year’s draft and a certain player who’s certain to be dominant in the NHL, drops in the draft to the 2nd round. As was the case when Lias Andersson was traded on the 2nd day of the draft when Will Cuylle dropped in the draft.

The major difference between Andersson and Kravtsov is that Kravtsov could play on the Rangers top 9 right now. When Andersson went back to the SHL, he was very far down on the depth chart and had very little chance of playing for the Rangers.

I hope the Rangers and Kravtsov can patch things up and he plays for the Rangers after his KHL teams season ends. Maybe Drury promises to never send him down to the AHL again? Though after this season Kravtsov would have to clear waivers anyhow.

This doesn't really fit into what the Canes are doing. The pick should be high in a good looking draft, but Canes need Skjei and the cap space more than Murray and futures if they want to compete in the playoffs

I appreciate you might not have watched much of Skjei as a Cane, but he's been incredible. He's got 4 goals in his last 3 games and something like 7 points in that time span too. Yes, he's hot, but since his arrival, the Canes PK has been one of the best in the NHL, he's playing top pairing minutes with Pesce at even strength (Yes, Slavin plays more special teams). He's been so solid defensively. A lot of Canes fans hated that trade at the time, but no one can really complain about how it's worked out. He's been SO good.

Brady Skjei is a LD, Ottawa does NOT need LD

They also don't need and should NOT trade their first round picks until they are elite contenders every year.

Brannstrom, 1st, 2nd is a heavy price for Skjei

I don't know how much of that is to dump Murray but keep him then and just buy him out instead

2023-24 is his last year on this contract. Situation will be solved way before that
