I think only Edmonton would bite, and that's still a maybe.

        Here's what i think:

BUF Trade: Pretty fair, but not sure why either team would do it.
CHI Trade: In my opinion this would take a lot more from CHI than Panarin and a 3rd pairing level D-Man.
CBJ Trade: Oooh, that looks like maybe a little too much for Tavares but pretty close in my opinion.
EDM Trade: Probably not quite enough in my opinion but not too far off i'd say.
MTL Trade: Yeah, Sergachev is a GREAT prospect, but i would still say in my opinion that's not enough for Tavares.
NSH Trade: If Hamonic is taken out, maybe, but it seems like Tavares and something else for Josi to me.
OTT Trade: Top 6 forward, top 2 D-Man, 3rd line forward, and top prospect. That's a lot but i'd have to say, in my opinion that's not enough for John Tavares.
TOR Trade: In my opinion not enough for Tavares.
WPG Trade: Oooh, i don't know what to say about this one. It seems pretty fair to me but still not sure why either team would do it.

But that's all just my opinion.

IMO, Tavares isnt worth all of these players. The only one that I would make as a general manager would be the Chicago one...and thats a tough one to make. Other than that, you overpaid for him.

Agreed with paying up for a player like Tavares. Especially when Sakic wants a fortune for Duchene and Landeskog.

But at the same time, you sorta contradicted yourself on some of these.

Ex: Reinhart and Ristolainen and a 1st for Tavares

But then you offer Tavares and Hamonic for Josi, Johansen, and a 2nd?

All of these trades are bad deal for the non Isles teams. Why would teams strip so much of their team or their future for one year of Tavares. Prepared to pay? I can't see one buyer willing.

        Totally agree with palhal.
And I can´t see the consistency in your trades, e.g. Laine straight up for Taveras ( winger for center) but Chicago should deal Panarin + Hjalmarsson.

Without a deal in place Tavares will be a rental if he was traded. If he does not sign with NYI then he will most likely be traded at the deadline unless a team bites at the draft with an offer you cant refuse. That being said, he wont command that much as a rental. Draft pick plus a bad salary dump. Example (hypothetical, not an actual thought of whether it would be accepted) - Tavares to Buffalo for Bogosian, Bailey and a 1st. Again that is a trade deadline offer.

Tavares is clearly very overrated in your opinion.

LMAO All of these deal heavily favor the Islanders here, No way are these teams going to give up their best players for 1 year of John Tavares unless it's a sign and trade kind of deal all those GMs would say hell no.

Back in the 80's 1 player could be worth a boat load because that player could score 80 goals in a season and be a the sole source of a team scoring pretty much. In present day, there is no player worth some of these ridiculous returns. (Given that they reach their potentials) Tavares is a stud player but even he only has 60 some odd points this year which is really nothing spectacular anymore. Great player but in a league where not many players stand out anymore, its not worth going over the moon for.
