I don't think NYR accepts. Panarin certainly won't waive. And Fox probably won't even play. He didn't agree to play anywhere else but for NYR, which f*cked both Flames and Canes right up.

yeah that's true, I sent McDavid to NYC cuz some people rumour he might sign there later, but yeah I doubt this kinda trade wold happen

Doesn't really matter if he wants out. The cost to trade for him would be too high for all but one or two teams.
Like it or not, they are stuck with each other until he hits UFA. More teams may be able to afford him as a rental down the road, but right now only Colorado and maybe Tampa are in a position to replace a top 6 C with McDavid without gutting their roster.

No way NYR does that. They’re gonna give up 2 top 20 players for a superstar. McDavid has shown that he can’t carry a team to the playoffs even with drai. Rangers would never do that

Think Fox is a deal breaker for reasons above, but likely the only way it would work is if you convinced Panarin, Zib, or Trouba to waive...cap doesn't exist otherwise. Is something like Panarin, Lundqvist or Jones, Chytil, Georgiev, and 2022 1st for McDavid, Koskinen reasonable?
