Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 9, 2022
Published: Jan. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Koski trade is a straight up LTIR move - NJ is keeping him on roster for cap reasons and he is likely not playing again this year.

I think Kane is a POS for sure And honestly don't think he should get a chance 800 that he is on but whatever he will help improve this team immediately and make us hard to play against.

Holloway can come in to play 3LW when healthy lineup would go

Hyman - Mcdavid - Pulju
Kane - Drai - Yams
Holloway - Nuge - Foegele
Benson - Mcleod - Marody/Pitlick/Sceviour

Fire Kassian into the sun, Turris and Shore to Waiver/Bako

I really like the idea of picking up Pitlick but how do we justify it when Marody is *right* there and has done everything asked of a prospect to make the NHL?

The only way I see it happening is if the Oilers run a bottom six of:

RNH - McLeod - Yamamoto
Benson - Pitlick - Marody

And I highly doubt that ever happens. This coach, GM, and city are convinced that the only fourth line to run is one which cannot play hockey.

Unless you have a replacement, you might as well keep Koskinen. Bernier still has a contract for 22/23 so Jersey may not want to trade him.

Sounds like he might not play again with his current hip issues

Im not an oilers fan but personally i think

Foegele - Mcdavid - JP
Kane - Drai - Yams
Holloway - Nuge - Hyman
Benson - Mcleod - Marody/Pitlick/Sceviour

which makes three lines you can confidently roll but thats just splitting hairs

Hyman - Foegele - Kane could honestly be pulled out of a hat for line assignment honestly.

Hyman will take one or two a night, Foegele has only taken a couple handful this year. Nuge should be our 3C without a doubt. or let Mcleod play with Kane and Foegele and dont touch the top 6.
