Realistic trades Hex Might make

Created by: edeangel84

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 11, 2022
Published: Jan. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’m not a fan of the casual approach that Hex and Burke seem to favor. I’m a sell the future now until 87 is out of gas kind of guy. However, it’s clear they won’t do it so here are a few trades I’d support that are realistic.
Trades
1.
DAL
  1. DeSmith, Casey
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (PIT)
2.
MTL
  1. Angello, Anthony
  2. Kapanen, Kasperi
  3. Riikola, Juuso
Additional Details:
This kind of trade only happens if they don’t see Kapanen as someone worth signing in the off-season. For 4 plus million per year.
3.
ARI
  1. 2022 5th round pick (PIT)
  2. 2023 7th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Some kind of trade for depth makes sense

As a Habs fan, you're going to be really disappointed with Lehkonen on your second line.

As fair as it gets, MTL would rather futures for these players rather than Kapanen. There's very little upside in Angello.

Riley Nash has been on 3 teams this season alone, how much more do you want him to move from one city to another?

That MTL trade is bad for PIT imo. Lehkonen is worse than Kappy and Kulak doesnt really help us considering you got Lybushkin as well. It would make more sense to swap Kapanen for someone like Greenway, Gurrianov, Yamomoto, etc, etc.

if kapanen shows out with malkin they won't move him. if he struggles i think it's something they look into in the offseason

Why people keep sending RW to MTL when we have a boatload of RWingers ?

That would be a good idea if Kapanen goes. As I see things my guess right now is he stays

I get your point there. I don’t even think we will trade Kapanen but if we do I think it would be to a team like the Habs who’s out of it already

And that would be a big mistake (to wait until the off-season). Why would we want to leave a struggling winger on the team if he shows he isn’t meshing with Geno? Same with Zucker. We don’t need guys like them in a bottom six

I just think he’s had a rough start but he’ll be fine. He has tons of potential but needs to be with guys who drive play. When he was with erod he played really well. Zucker is someone who’ll give 110% effort but for his cap hit it’s not good enough

Well if we see more of Geno from last night he will be just fine
