I think Meier and Hertl has developed chemistry. I would keep them together.

think Barabanov and Hertl have pretty solid chemistry, and Meier and Couture have pretty good chemestry.
Love the Idea of Toffoli with the sharks, fills our need for RHS RW in our top 6 till Robins, Weisblatt, and Coe are NHL ready.
Bonino wont get us that return and I would rather give Labanc another shot with a better C like Bordeleau next year.

Weisblatt would be in MTL in this case scenario
Fair offer for Toffoli
I would looked at every option first but this trade is tempting, but it depends on how each individual sees Weisblatt because he is the centerpiece of this trade

Weisblatt at best is a high end 3rd line RW at this stage, his growth has kind of stalled, but he is still a legit NHL prospect, just not a top 6 potential anymore.
and your right I forgot he was part of the trade.
I feel both Robins and Coe have surpassed him as prospects and I don't see a logical spot for Weisblatt in our top 9 for at least 3-4 years so I'm ok trading him for a solid return. and we badly need a RHS top 6 guy now.

Call me crazy but I can see San Jose unqualifying John Leonard. He’s been abysmal this year in the ahl and even tho he’s highly touted and was given strictly nhl time last year, he didn’t preform well at all. Being that he’s only a 6th round pick it would be too much of an upset if they let him go. I’ve always found him pretty overrated

In that case Toffoli wouldn’t be move for a guy who doesn’t have a top 6 ceiling. The price is starting with either a 1st RD pick OR a high-end prospect. Getting a top 6 RW Sniper doesn’t come at the price of B prospect and 2nd Rounders. But thanks for the input on Weisblatt

Balsers is on a 36 point pace for 1.5 mil and plays a solid 2 way game, he is a better piece than you give him credit for (think a poor mans Goodrow)
not sure with Balcers and Weisblatt you get a 1st.

Does Hertl sign a 6 year deal with SJ? It seems like it'd be hard to convince him that they can't offer him a 7 or 8 year deal when it's coming from a team that routinely hands out huge 8 year deals like they're candy. I think if SJ wants to keep Hertl they'll need to offer him an 8x8

he had a rough start to this season but he has turned it around as of late. has plus offensive gifts to go with a solid above average defensive game. would be a solid bottom 6 for us.
that being said I wouldn't be shocked if he isn't resigned next season, but i would keep him around and let him work on his game and give him a little more time to develop.

Not when you are getting a cheap winger and a 1st round player too. I wouldn’t do the deal as it is now.

your not wrong I see him getting a 8 x 8.25. Our saving grace is he has said he would prefer shorter deal to give him another chance to find a cup team to play for before he is in the twilight of his career.
that being said I could see a 8.5 x 4 deal and that would be IDEAL for the sharks.

I don’t mind this. Not a big fan of Donskoi coming back although I do like him. Sharks need scoring and he has a whopping 0 goals in 34 games. Toffoli trade is okay, not big on giving away more seconds and a player picked in the 1st. Also I would resign Gadjovich, Viel is the same guy who produces more.

Bones is still a monster PKer, excellent on the dot and provides decent scoring from the bottom six. Not to mention a top notch leader. He will get a 3rd and maybe even a 2nd. You clearly have never watched him play lol

Tofolli would do well with Hertl and Eklund next year.
I would go as far as Robins, Balcers, and our 23 1st for him.
or Barabanov and a 3rd for him.

No Habs (outisde Lehkonen) are having a good year. They are getting coached by Pee-Wee coaches who have no clue what they’re doing TBH

Yikes I wouldn’t do that. I’m cool with trading Balcers, he’s cheap and an RFA. If it came down to Weisblatt or Robins I’m trading Weisblatt every time. Rather keep the 1st in a loaded class too.

if his points were closet to last year I would agree, however he is showing signs of slowing down and 2 mil is a lot for a 3rd or 4C especially on a cup contender who is cash strapped.
to boot were only getting rid of him to play a young guy with more upside.

I just don't see any solid top 6 RHS in next years FA class that we can get for 4,5-5mil so trade will be necessary to get a younger proven guy.
Robins and Bordeleau are very similar so losing Robins doesn't hurt as much though I agree I would prefer to lose Weisblatt over Robins.

He's found his touch of late 7 pts in last 9 games. they'll qualify him because he still has an elite shot. Just needs to put the rest together.

that may be true, but it doesn't chance that they are all having down years and down years hurt value. Teams will be trading on the hope these players rebound but that's not for certain.

he is also defensively sound 2 way player who we could plug and play on the 4th line and PK, but were hoping for him to refine his scoring touch.

It doesn’t hurt their value really, he isn’t having a terrible year + the team is dead last. Toffoli’s been a top 6 player for years, not because the team suck and it reflects on him that is value is dropping
