IF Kane works out and we go all in

Created by: hockeyconnor97
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 12, 2022
Published: Jan. 12, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Kane gets back to form and stops being an idiot, we could have a really good value player, and he would help with spreading out the roster.

Forwards:
1st line: Similar to our current 1st line but with Kane instead of Hyman
2nd line: Draisaitl and Yamamoto work well together, add more skill with Holloway, who could be a lesser version of Nuge who has worked on that line in the past.
3rd line: Probably the best third line in the league. Three very good defensive forwards, we could honestly match this line up with a top 6 line on another team and have one of our top two lines beat up on other teams' bottom six
4th line: Young energetic guys. Could swap Kass for Benson or Sceviour, and Ryan for someone if needed.

And conditions on re-signing aren't possible anymore.

Hampus won't sign for $5x5, if he would, he'd be inked in Anaheim. You also can't put conditions on picks that involve re-signing a player.

Also, Hakanpaa is signed to an absolute sweetheart contract...Dallas isn't moving him, and a pick to take your cap dump and make it easier for you to fill your roster.

What makes Barrie a cap dump? Right handed puck mover that has recently lead ALL d in points and quarterbacks one of the best pp units the league has ever saw at 4.5 million. Seth Jones just signed twice that contract term and money and I’d argue is half the player Barrie is.

Perhaps "Cap dump" was the wrong choice of words, but the Oilers are dumping his contract onto another team, so that they can upgrade elsewhere.

It's kind of funny that he's so good and only got 3 x $4.5 mil? Most points among dmen in the entire NHL last year, yet the best he could get was 3 x $4.5?!?! Maybe it's because he can't play defence...

Tyson Barrie is the Mike Hoffman of dmen.
