Maybe I am underselling him here. But everyone knows we will not be offering him a qualifying offer in the off-season. So maybe a 4th is realistic....either way, a 1st+ is outrageous.

BatVadar just had a spell where he didnt like Scheifele...This isnt happening on a few levels...trade is off, we are not rebuilding so having young guys to replace him isnt a thing as well as Scheifele is a cornerstone to the organization

The Jets may look at trading Scheifele in the last year of his contract, but definitely not now. Unless he asks for a trade or the deal is to good to be true.

Jets weren’t keeping that return, we were getting Brock Boeser+Jett Woo+2nd from VAN.

Chytil is simply not very good. KRavtsov is still a mystery but leaning toward bust. Lundkvist is the only real promising piece here. No, I don't see this getting Scheifele at all. If I am Jets I would want Lundkvist, Othmann, 2 1sts.

The whole trade Scheifele thing came out of a segment on Winnipeg Sports Talk (run by ex-TSN radio guys) where they were talking about trading Scheifele in a conversation with a Winnipeg Free Press reporter. This was in the midst of a long run of poor play that ended up with Maurice no longer coaching the team. Watching that segment it seemed to me like it was a hot take that spiralled out of control as the host became increasingly worked up.

Even better Wheeler and Hellebuyck’s contracts expire the sam year as Scheifele
