So you want the Rangers to give up a 25 year old goalie PLUS a 4th round pick for a 36 year old goalie to back up for the rest of this year. Yeah, no thanks.

Okay, hold on a sec, you guys are telling me the Rangers are still high on Georgiev? It hasn't sounded like they view him as the long-term backup to Shesterkin. Is that the case?

Long term, no. But would Halak be long term? NO. Georgi will be traded, but prob at the draft so they have a solid back up for the playoffs.

Easy no for the Avs, burning assets for no significant upgrade.

He's been really good since Shesty was out. We have no reason to deal him without at least getting a 2nd.

Francouz was arguably as good as or better than Grubauer before his injury. He's fit again, so no need to burn assets to get Halak.

I take it Desmith is waiver fodder at this point

He has severely disappointed in his return from core muscle surgery. The Pens need a back up for the stretch run so that Jarry isn't being overused. They just don't have time to wait for Desmith to rebound.

If the Canucks are out of the playoff race come trade deadline, I'm sure they'll take calls on Halak and Pittsburgh will be among the teams in on him
