Description
Descriptions for trades and signings

EP40: If he continues to ”struggle” while Vancouver keeps playing like a top team in the WC, could we see them dealing him to load up on futures? I could see Stevie Y kickin tires on him. We (Detroit) have loads of assets and the only true thing we lack on the current squad and in the system is that future 1C. If Larkin cant be that, EP40 would stelast form a great 1/2 punch with him.
Neither of the players or picks going to Vancouver have a high, not average chance of becoming someone on the same level as EP40. But like most trades involving One superstar, the Stars former team most often recives good quantity over small but high quality. I can really see the value being fair here.

Hague: Hague is a Young top4 DFD with room to improve. Vegas has one hell of a hard Offseason coming their way due to their cap situation. An offersheet at the Max AAV for this amount of compensartion (2023 2nd) should make Vegas not match it. I would also asume that Hague accepts it, both due to the money and what lies ahead in the future with this Detroit team.

McNabb: Antother victim of the cap situation in Vegas. He is a hard hitting stay at Home DFD that would form a great pair with Hronek. A 2-3y deal with a AAV around 2-3 years would defo do it. If we land Hague, he could join us together with Hague.

Martin Jones: Shocker. Why would Stevie sign a ”bad” keeper to a 2y deal with a 2M AAV?
We have capspace!
Ned loves to play the majority of games while carrying the team. Jones can derfore be a good backup. The contract wont even hurt If he does not perform.

Staal: Keep him for One more year so that Edvinsson can get a full year in the AHL to continue his development.

Gagner: Veteran depth

Stephens: Young depth

Would need to sign 1-2 more guys that can fill in when injuries start to mount. Maybe Rowney and another UFA.

I would also like to see a AHL team stacked with Young players. We have many prospects that seem to be ready to take the next step and play PRO north american hockey.

I like the idea for sure. Logic would say the Wings have to get a strong second center sooner or later. But what do I know, the Blackhawks won 3 Cups with Toews and not much else at center,

Van pass pretty easy Seider is a must coming back in a EP40 trade, Zadina is looking like a bust, Johansson is another 2 way LHD which Van has a surplus of, Veleno is looking okay but won't be anything too special #2 Center on most teams, and two picks in the teens don't make up the difference, no point in trading ep40 when the value is low, lot's of factors into his struggles will rebound into the player he has been in the past, we already starting to see some flashes of it

Look at this team and the players. Most are still Young. We have some elite players and elite prospects. Getting EP40 would make up for the losses of some current Young players and future picks. But I dont completley dissagre with you. There are many ways you can go to ”finish” a rebuild.

The D core still consists of Seider, Hronek, Lidström, Wallinder, Hague and some other prospects. We have Ned and Cossa in net.
Up front we have Larkin, Vrana, Bert, Raymond, EP40, Fabbri and probably a center from the 2022 draft. Then we have a big supplera of forward prospects in the system. Hanass, Soderblom, Niederbach, Berggren are a few that have a real shot at the NHL. The depth can later be perfected by smaller trades or from UFA.

If anything, EP needs to go somewhere the pressure can be taken off of him, not one where he'll be expected to produce on day 1. He just looks off. It just doesn't make sense to be sending away 1st round picks at this stage of the rebuild.

Yeah this trade definitely doesn't make sense for either trade

I agree. But with Evander Kane off the books San Jose can now afford to re-sign Hertl long term.

Stick with the plan. Develop players internally. I feel for Larkin, but that's how it goes sometimes. He'll be the hero if he sticks it out with DET.

Good player but I think 75% of his goals have been scored vs Detroit.
