Would love to add those players but as @Zuki9797 said, both are big underpays

I think a lot of unexpected things would have to happen for Ducks to be buyers and Lightning to be sellers at deadline.

As disappointing as Kakko has been, he is still a regular as A 20-year old. The Rakell package would probably be more fitting for Kravtsov or another prospect.

I think people definitely underestimate how good Kakko has gotten defensively. Yes you expect more from a former #2 overall but he has a chance to become an elite two way player. If/when the offense starts to pop you could have one of the better two way players in the game. If they really want kakko they aren’t going to get him without a big name coming back. Rangers have no need to trade him and it kills the RW depth they have

My read on Kakko, and tell me is this is off, is that he looks like he struggles with the speed of the game. His skating, his release, all the skills are there. But there almost seems to be a delayed reaction time, especially when he is on the puck. Like the processing speed is a little slow. Maybe it’s just a confidence thing and he needs to get over the hump. But it seems to me he would have benefitted with a stint in AHL in his first couple of years. That’s just my take…I could be off.

Both him and laffy should’ve started in the ahl, but it’s gotten a lot better since his rookie year. Still needs to improve on overall speed, but he’s honestly passed the eye test for me. I would give him a 4mx5y extension that would be beneficial for NYR in the long run
