I think you would need to send more to Detroit to make that worth while for us. Joseph is a nice player and I like him but he's a bottom 6 guy, I don't think he holds a ton of value. If you were to swap that prospect for Finley it might be more worth while. Retaining on both those deals will really limit the return we can get on Leddy. I'm sure Detroit could find a trade partner for namestnikov without retention if they decide they want to trade him.

Dallas part looks okay. I think you’re over valuing Joseph a little on the Detroit part

Yeah, think MJoseph is worth more to TBL than to DET, making the value out of synch for the trade. DET probably looking for a 3rd for Namestnikov, a 4th for 25% retention on Klingberg (if that is what is meant in the agm), something else for retention on VK, and a willingness to take on another contract if necessary for contract numbers.

Pass on Mathieu, boarding our captain after a decent recovery from his head/neck just a couple months ago.

The Klingberg trade looks good, but I have to question if the Stars would do it. Jim Nill is the type of guy to do the players right. JK wants 8x8, so I would have to think that he will be traded to a team that will extend him. I tried to reason a third team scenario where JK would be traded again before the Draft for an extension. I think it’s too risky from an injury front.

Detroit passes, We want a late 2nd or 3rd round pick for Namestnikov. Retaining another 50% on John Klingberg for a 4th is fair.
