CBJ EA NHL 22

Created by: Lenny7
Team: 2021-22 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 14, 2022
Published: Jan. 14, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It's a video game...let's get that straight right off the bat here...I realize that with EA's trade engine, and the inability to control the league, you're going to get madness, and that realism is what you make it. Again, it's a video game.

-NYR: Let's start with this one. I've got Patrik Laine on the block. I haven't moved him yet, and am concidering moving him. Was deep into it last night, but the Rangers ended up declining due to their cap issues next year. There's other teams that are interested, but I'm curious as to everyone's thoughts on a potential Laine return? A trade with a divisional rival will hurt.

NYI: Isles had some injuries on the left side of their D-core, and were looking to add. I've followed Raty for a while, and while I get that it's unrealistic that the Isles would move him so soon, I wanted him.

Detroit: I had to. Wings fans won't be happy, but Domi was a piece that I needed a return on. Winnipeg offered their 1st+3rd, but I really, really wanted Cossa.

Edmonton: I cheated a bit here...I signed Kane, left him in the minors, and added him to this trade when the money ended up working out. Not exactly an upgrade in net for the Oilers, but dumping $3ish mil allowed them to upgrade their lineup. I'm expecting the 2nd to be late.

Yeah...my thoughts with the Rangers (again, video game...), is that adding a star RW to their top 6 fills a massive hole.

I could definitely see this working on NHL 22 as a trade, but EA overrate Laine a lot. He's a bit crap.

I mean, his trade value in-game is actually not outstanding. That being said, for all the trash people talk about Laine, since his debut in 2016, Laine sits 12th in the league in goals scored. Can't see him being not bringing back a haul, especially if Columbus retained this year.

Edmonton declines. Korpisalo is terrible and they don't need to make room for Kane, they can fit him in without making any other moves.

It's a video game. I probably didn't say that enough in the thread title, description, or in the comments on the trades to make it clear, so I can absolutely see how you'd miss it.

Yeah, I had to have him (And Cossa). Might look at moving Laine to the Isles instead of the Rags, and give them a bit of a discount for *stealing* Raty.

Sure, but your excuse for making the move was wrong: the Oilers don't need that space. So why would they trade a 2nd in order to downgrade their goaltending?

You know, I think you should go and write a strongly worded complaint to EA, because Kane's asking price in the game is actually 1 x $3.5 mil. I don't make the rules, pal, but I'm sure they'd be happy to discuss!

If you could do me a favor while you're at it, please let them know that I appreciate them adding roster sharing to the game, but that 32 team control would be extremely beneficial.

Thanks!

Fixed! Thanks! Ducks fan here, so I'm just dabbling. Loved my own players and prospects too much, so couldn't get into it. [/quote]

You are correct,, Wing's fans sa no. Yzerman in his short tenure is drafting well and sticking the cupboard and progressing in the rebuild. Yes the Wings have played much better but at least one to two years away from really contending. Cossa has played well in the WHL and would have loved to see what he could have done in the World Juniors. He is really our only good goalie prospect and with Yzerman trading up to get him, there is no way they are trading him now. Yes Wings need a #2C, but it could be addressed in FA with guys like Hertl, Trocheck and a few others, with the cap space Wings have.

100% agree. I only made the move in the game because I like him alot...I've already got Tarasov, who projects as a potential starter, but Cossa is a fun video game goalie.

tears of joy Answer for what? A video game trade? You've got the freedom to skip right over it, or, even better, there's a wonderful feature on here called the "ignore list", so you'll never have to worry about seeing a post from me again.

Cheers dude!

"It's a video game...let's get that straight right off the bat here...I realize that with EA's trade engine, and the inability to control the league, you're going to get madness, and that realism is what you make it. Again, it's a video game."

You post clown trades, don't be upset for being called a clown. If your stupid game makes stupid trades, why not leave the trades on the game platform? Nobody forced you to publish your EA trades here.

Suck it up.

Do you have the Venmo info for the folks that are holding you hostage and forcing you to follow this thread? Because I would absolutely pay a handsome price so that you don't have to suffer anymore.

I'm sure that you can probably get a message out to the rest of your fun police detachment though. They'd probably be far more helpful. When you get ahold of them though, if you could leave me out of it, I'd appreciate it. I ain't going back to fun prison. I just can't. It's so dreary and dreadful there...basically just a place where people cherry pick analytics to attempt to support their arguments, give off this world weary air, and spend their entire life trying to look like the smartest person in the room. I get that you like it there, but it's not for me.

Things that are entertaining > Being a grump.

Have a lovely day.

It's a public forum. If you want to do silly things and not be criticized for them, don't publish them. It's that simple.

Into it.

Funny-ish story. Doug MacLean's home was down the road from mine (PEI), when I was growing up. When he was coach of the Panthers, the city changed our minor hockey uniforms to the Panthers. That obiously didn't last long (think it was 1 season for us). When he was hired in Columbus, the hockey teams were re-named the Blue Jackets, and the ball teams were named the Stingers. Thank god that only lasted 4 years or so tears of joy

You're 100% correct. It's a public forum. It absolutely opens me up for critism, especially for people who have trouble comprehending the difference between a video game and real life (Because everything posted on here is absolutely real life!). There's a difference between critism and name calling (As you can see in the forum rules, which are available with a quick click of a button below smile )

Have a fantastic afternoon!

I called your trade a clown trade. Because it is. Steve Yzerman didn't use his extra first round pick, trade up in the first round to draft a future stud goalie only to trade it for the often injured, underperforming and overpaid Max Domi.
