Description
Playing with some ideas and I’m interested how the other teams fans see the trades
Trades
1.
SJS
  1. Backlund, Mikael
  2. Zary, Connor
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Not sure if this would cut it, but a Blue Chip Prospect and a 2nd is nothing for a potential rental
2.
MTL
  1. Monahan, Sean
  2. Poirier, Jérémie
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Again, not sure if it’s enough. Poirier looks to be trending in the right direction, and the 2nd offsets the salary difference
3.
CGY
  1. Chychrun, Jakob
Additional Details:
This is wishful thinking, but would love to see him in Calgary
ARI
  1. Mackey, Connor
  2. Phillips, Matthew
  3. Zadorov, Nikita
  4. 2023 1st round pick (CGY)
  5. 2023 2nd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Two very good prospects, who are close to NHL ready, plus bolsters draft picks for next year.

High profile =/= Blue chip prospect. Lets take NYR for example. They would probably have interest in Hertl. The return would probably be around Chytil and 1st. You might be able to convince them to move Nils but thats more because Schneider makes him expendable

chytil and a 1st is not appealing, NY would have to give up schneider and a 1st and that’s not happening, maybe 1st chytil and lundkvist. still that might be to steep a price

I wish you luck with that but don't get your hopes up. This TDL has too many good rental options for there to be high demand. With retention you might get a 1st and Lundkvist

actually we won’t get anything, sharks are working on Hertl extension, should be done soon.

Working on an extension and actual confirmed signings are 2 different things. So no reason to throw out all speculation

High profile to me = top 50 league wide prospect. You arent getting him for Chytil after this year

(Im not a Rangers fan, I was using them as an example). When was the last time a pending UFA returned a 1st and a top 50 prospect at the deadline?

Mark Stone was traded as a potential Rental and signed his extension shortly there after and the return was Brannstrom (maybe a top 50 prospect at the time) and a 2nd.

Going back to the Flames, Zary and a 2nd is very reasonable. We would need to include salary going back (hence Backlund). If that is negative value to the sharks, I would consider moving the 2nd to a 1st, but that is a big return on a potential rental, whether he signs an extension or not is not part of the deal.

Brannstrom was like a top 20 prospect then. He is not good now but was very highly regarded then

Karlsson did, the report from the sharks is and I will quote Doug Wilson here "it would have to be something ridiculous for us to consider trading Hert"

Would love to get Calgary's lottery bound 1st rounder for 2022
