why is Playoff team CAR shipping out a defenseman to PIT..... in the same division....

Take Zucker and Radulov out of the Dallas trade. If I'm Dallas, I'd rather just have the cap space after this season.

More than the Pens would be willing to give up. Right now, RHD are a very valuable commodity. Especially top pairing RHD. Canes don’t want some random 4th liner that won’t help us at all, or a futures pick when we are gunning for the cup. Our dcore is already one of the best in the league, if not the best, and we won’t shred it just to help an aging divisional rival make one last attempt at the cup before Crosby and Malkin are done.

And being scratched for one game after a really bad game can be explained as Rod was giving Bear a day to reset mentally and be prepared for Boston.
