Habs pass. I don't think its a bad offer but we have no use for Gawdin or Pitlick. It would have to likely be a second rounder coming back to move the needle. Keep in mind both picks will be late and Montreal won't be giving up a pick in the deal. All my opinion though!

Philly doesn't want to swap for a worse bottom-sixer

I mean I don't like Monahan or Zadorov but if CBJ just has to pay a 4th and an ahler for monny then it's a deal

Man I don't know guys, Calgary may not even make the playoffs this year but even if they do, they'd likely go out in the first round against a team like Colorado or Vegas. That pick is destined for 13th-18th IMO. (Assuming lottery protection) That's a high pick. Pitlick and Gawdin are just a cap trade offs. Any trade involving a player with 4M cap is going to involve other cap coming back to the Habs. That is just how it goes. We can't simply decline and say give us picks instead.

I would be shocked if Calgary didn't make the playoffs, but - anything can happen. If they get hot, I think they can take COL, I am not sold on Kuemper, to be honest but you never know - you make a fair point. Habs should be happy to retain salary for more picks if money is an issue.

They're technically not in the playoffs now and are in winning slump of 2-7-1. I think they're good enough to make it also but I don't think they stand a chance against Colorado or Vegas. Kuemper doesn't even need to be spectacular for them to beat CGY. The rest of the team is just too solid.

Anyways just pointing out that I see you both quickly pointing out that its not enough but that pick may end up being quite low. If its in the 13-18th range Im ecstatic and think that is a fair deal for Toffoli. I also wouldn't retain on Tofolli. There's too many other players that we'd need to retain on to trade over Toffoli.

That is fair. If it was a 13-18 overall, very fair. That I am thinking is if Calgary loses in the second round and the pick is 25th overall.

Yep thats the risk. You're basically trying to pick the wild card team that has the least chance of beating the top 2 seeds. Pit, Bos, Minny or Cgy?

No way the Flyers do that. They’re trading for an older worse bottom six player
