Haha I'm guessing he signs with the leafs for a touch under 5 but with quite a bit of term. Aside from the FA signings, the Leafs are getting back a good roster player for Ritchie and a second. A second is likely the cost to dump Ritchie, let alone dump his contract and get a reliable young player back

I like Kubalik, but the Canes wont pay that price. The only piece in that trade that would even be available would be the draft pick. Drury likely ends up on the roster full time next year and LaFontaine probably ends up with Chicago in the AHL depending on when Raanta gets healthy again. Canes cant afford to be moving goalies right now, as a lot of our goalies, all the way to Norfolk in the ECHL are injured, which kind of forced the hand of the Canes into signing LaFontaine from Minnesota. Kochetkov cant come over because of his contract being active over in Russia. So, LaFontaine isnt going anywhere.

None of these moves are beneficial for CHI.

If it's Kochetkov in the deal and not the BRAND NEW signing that is Jack Lafontaine, maybe? You're more likely to get Suzuki than Drury though. Suzuki and Kochetkov straight up would probably be all you get though

Canucks have no interest in Strome or Borgstrom. You'd have to at least replace one of the 2nd rounders with a 1st rounder
