Absolute trash defending from the Stars. How did they leave the guy THAT much space?

This right here perfectly shows how our season is going.

How good is it that so many players across the league are saying "na, I'll just score it myself."

According to NHLRumorsDaily

Avalanche have interest in Clade Giroux. Flyers wanted Alex Newhook, but talks steered towards Tyson Jost

Newhook too much for Giroux, Jost kind seems not enough as a main asset

Stars players were enjoying the moment or what. (I know I'm in no position to roast them as a MTL fan though).

I honestly can’t wait to see what pun Bob McElligott will think up when Dean Kukan scores a goal

Is it gonna be “What’s Kukan in the kitchen” or will it be

“IF YA SMELLLLL
WHAT THE DEAN
IS KUKAN”

I don't know how you do that fr. Tonight the Habs play at 10 pm & it's way too late for me.

Really depends on sleep schedule, Lightning played @10:30 the other night (and do it again Sat. night) but I'm a night owl anyway, made no difference

Let's think five years to the future.

Which teams do you think are built now the way that they are looking very good in 2027?

How about the teams looking real bad in 2027?

Name your top5 of bright future teams and top5 of the future suckers. Gimme some good shouts here.

I think these five are going to look good in five years time
1. Avs
2. Kings
3. Panthers
4. Bolts
5. Rangers

And the five that are going to look bad in five years time
1. Oilers
2. Sharks
3. Islanders
4. Penguins
5. Capitals

Good ones are either built very well thus far and have sustainable long-term cores or have extremely interesting pool of prospects.

Bad ones are now stacked with veterans and most likely in for a rebuild, or massively failing during their window of success until it's too late.

The capitals will be a powerhouse for two more years and just start to decline. We will be the worst

My thoughts exactly. Their core is not going to last simply because they have so many veterans. Their window is now and if they don't get very far it'll be a massive failure.

Devils is looking quite interesting, but their process is still very much in progress.

They really need the likes of L.Hughes, Holtz, Mercer and the lot to reach their utmost potential to become one of the top teams in the league.

Well yes and no.

The pass was extremely good, but honestly the space was already there. Any kind of pass, as long as it was a quick one, would've done it.

DAL players were all over the place even before the play.

If Im looking 5 years into the future, Im focusing on players that are going to be in their prime
Jack Hughes (25), Alex Holtz (24), Dawson Mercer (25), Luke Hughes (23), Nico Hischier (28), Jesper Bratt (28). All of them with crazy good potential are going to be in their primes producing

Compared that to other teams you had on the list (Tampa and NYR).
Tampa Star players: Kucherov (33), Point (30), Stamkos (36), Sergachev (28) Hedman (36), Vasy (32).
Rangers main contributors: Fox (28), Panarin (35), Kreider (35), Zibanejad (33), Strome (33), Shesterkin (31)

Almost all of them will be past their primes. I think teams like the Ducks, Devils, and Senators will be better in 5 years

Those age numbers while bigger than Devils' ones aren't that high that they'd be in risk of major declining. Also both Stammer and Hedman are due for new contracts by that point, and knowing how well Brisebois has handled those TB is most likely able to sign those guys with team friendly deals to make cap room for new younger assets such as Cirelli, Sergachev and Cernak.

In five years time I'd wager the likes of Lafreniere, Kakko, Miller, Lundkvist, Schneider and the like have taken the necessary steps forward and be of the same importance as most of the names you've put there for the Rangers.

These are exactly the reasons why I put these teams here over the current rebuilders. Five years isn't a long enough time to have the current cores of the top teams involved go past by their expiry date, but rather the futures will complement what they already have. This is not the case with the likes of Devils, Senators, Sabres etc.

LA in theory belongs to the category as the rebuilders do, but honestly they have many interesting pieces in their current core too as well as the deepest prospect pool in the entire league.

At least the power play works for Dallas.

Glad to see Seguin to get these goals in. He needs those to get his confidence back.

Buffalo? And is 21 and under deeper than the sabres 21 and under?
