So in fantasy today
Batherson scored
Backy scored
Kuzy scored
Kopitar scored
Pasta scored twice
Eller scored
And some guys got assists and both goalies won. What a day. It’s still going

Marchand left the Bruins-Caps game after getting hit by Hathaway in the 2nd period. Bruce Cassiday after the game: "You hate to see a guy like [Marchand] go down on such a cheap kind of hit."
Um, actually, there are few players in the league more deserving of going down on a cheap hit than Brad Marchand. (Not that I'm cheering his getting injured)

One of the more prominent Oilers bloggers went to Twitter to ask where they could find a Bobrovsky.

20th overall rang a bell for me.

Even if this still happened there options in Free agency or trade better than what Holland brought in

Nedeljkovic could have been got for a 3rd and Smith (Carolina mainly wanted the pick and had no plans to sign Bernier).

Or

MAF for Free. Give up an ECHL prospect that Vegas had no plans to keep

That trade still baffles me and Im surprised the president allowed this …Oh wait its Holland to...

Really surprised hes allowed to do both roles as normally, organizations like having a separate President of Hockey Operations helps prevent these kinds of trades

In the end I get Holland was doing Keith a solid getting him closer to his family but you dont got to do Chicago any favors lul. Keith easily should have had a 2nd coming with him and Oilers only should have been sending Jones in that scenario.

JT Miller and Thatcher a Demko are officially in COVID protocol, the Canucks two best players this season. So hyped for center group:
Pettersson
Dickinson
Lamikko
Dries
And goalie tandem Spencer Martin and Mike DiPietro.

Oh yeah and we are playing the Panthers

Take a moment and realize that the Avs top line and top pair-not PP unit, just 5v5 play-is Gabe Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Cale Makar, Devon Toews. scream
Granted, it's their depth behind the top 6 and goaltending that are the red flags, but getting to have all 5 on the ice at the same time is just unfair.

Yeah but remember Knight allowed 5 goals vs. Calgary

And Bob was in net both those games you mentioned

And if we look at Knights 2 others starts

3 against Tampa
8 against Ottawa

The Panthers beat us when we were mostly healthy. Half our roster is now AHL members. Pettersson line about to play 40 minutes

I find being unhealthy often = better results for a good chunk of teams

Dont get why but it happens

Samuel Montembeault has yet to let in less than 3 goals in a game he’s started this year. Although he’s now also coming off back-to-back games where he’s faced over 50 shots and finished with a .941 and .925 save percentage in those games.

So you’re suggesting an Alex Chiasson hat trick and Mike DiPietro shutout? I mean I’d be down for that

Its more than Tippett.

Holland needs to go as he is not fit to be a GM

Paying for Keith should have been the last straw but here's the problem. Oilers made Holland their president in combination with his GM role. So basically Daryl Katz (owner) will have to fire him but so far hes just attending some scouting meetings...

As lets be real lets say Oilers had made Holland GM and made Elliot Friedman the Oilers President. Holland would need to get approval from Friedman before doing all these moves and I dont think Friedman would have approved of paying for Keith.

Honestly Edmonton should look at Vancouver as they got rid of a bunch of "problems"

Lafreniere and Lunkvist are the only young players with elite potential at this point and I'd bet a lot of money Lundkvist will be traded soon. Miller is awful, Schneider probably tops out as a #3 D, and Kakko looks like he'll be a low end 2nd liner at best.

The rangers shortened their window last offseason by extending Zibanejad and trading Buchnevich. If they would have traded for Eichel and signed Buchnevich long term I'd agree that their future is bright. The best chance for the rangers to win the cup is in the next 2 years and right now they are a bad team being carried by Shesterkin, who should win the Hart Trophy.

Before calling out the likes of Miller awful and Kakko and Schneider second liners I'd wait for them to turn 23 or 24. They're still all very young and at the beginning of their careers.

why is it mentioned that the super genius that can never do no wrong that is Steve Yzerman drafted Cossa before Wallstedt the goalie who some people are saying was just the clear cut franchise goalie in this draft class which the stupidest thing I've ever heard because if it were that obvious he would have been a top 5 pick.

And people are acting like the Oilers don't have good goalie prospects, Konovalov is finding his game in NA after not doing so well in the first month of the AHL season and had great numbers in the KHL, and there is Rodrigue who isn't as promising but still not bad and the the Condors have been really good recently with them rotating the net. And don't forget about Skinner is who is gonna be great for us

Konovalov had one good KHL season 3 years ago. Rodrigue isn't that high end, his only okay year was his DY+2 year in the Q. Skinner's probably the best of the bunch but even he's not that great, he might be a 1B. There's no excuse for passing on Wallstedt when a starting goalie for the future was the clearest need for the Oilers. They already have 2 decent young RWers in Puljujarvi and Yamamoto, Nuge/McDavid/Draisaitl locked up for a long time (and were pretty clearly about to sign Hyman), and Holloway in the pipeline (along with some lower end guys that might pan out like Lavoie, Savoie, Petrov), they didn't need another forward.

As for why Yzerman selected Cossa over Wallstedt, on draft day they were basically 50/50. Most scouts had them both in the 10-15 range (I'm pretty sure Pronman had them at 10/11 in one of his final rankings, Bob McKenzie had them at 12/15 in his final rankings). The difference if I'm remembering correctly is that Wallstedt possesses elite technical skills and hockey sense (meaning he's very good at reading the play, and is always in the right position), while Cossa is very good as well, but also 6'6". My bet is that Yzerman felt he could ride Nedeljkovic for a few years, and teach Cossa to perfect the positioning side and take advantage of his larger frame (longer time developing in the AHL, maybe 2-3 years, whereas Wallstedt is likely to crack the NHL by the time he's 21). Really you can't go wrong with either though. I feel like Wallstedt has Vasilevskiy upside but Cossa has Bishop upside, and is more likely to at least make the NHL due to his sheer size.
