why has everyone for gotten the really good moves Holland has made, like every gm in the league would have traded JP for a second but Holland didn't, and he some how gotten a guy that scored 19 goals for Lucic, and Hyman is a great add to the top six. and he has gotten Petrov, Savoie, and Tullio all outside of the first 3 rounds

He also went and paid full price for cap dump Duncan Keith, Kept the Oilers problematic goaltending duo together rather than acquire MAF (for Free!), brought in Ceci and Barrie to play on the same D-Unit (Did he not see Toronto), and did not address the Oilers depth scoring. Do I need to go on?

And where's the guy who scored 19 goals you mentioned....Bought out and on the Blues Taxi squad after disappointing the following season meanwhile Lucic is still a flame. So thats a trade Holland technically lost...

Being good at one or two things does not mean good GM. Look at Benning he could make a good trade from time to time and drafted good talent from time to time wheres he now (Fired). Why, the Canucks weren't doing good. Holland in a sense is in the same position, the Oilers are outside a playoff spot and are having the same issues year after year with scoring depth, defense, and goaltending.

Those are good moves, give you that.
But the OIL are supposed to be CUP contenders NOT Wild-Card pretenders in the WEAKEST DIV this side of the ECHL, No?

I mean didnt Neal do good one year then get bought out the following year? So is that technically a good trade for Holland?

But in the end isnt Lucic still a Flame while Holland still had to buyout Neals 5.75 mill contract. So technically one could argue the Flames won in the end...

Refs must be McDavid’s biggest fan after selling the game to him. 3 terrible penalty calls

I can dozens of times where McDavid has been blatantly tripped and the refs blew it off, and this season there was the time when McDavid got ejected for boarding vs. LA and then a couple games later vs. SEA Sceviour got hit way worst by Lauzon and he didn't even get a penalty

Like I get Neal did better but as we all know playing with Mcdavid often does that. Just ask Maroon and Kassian.

And your point is?

I wasn't going to give Holland GM of the year.

But @oilersguy wasn't wrong w/ the narrative of deals he chose so I acknowledged that.

Your a Leafs guy Doyle, so the Dubas docket of trades/deals/misses is pretty telling too, every franchise has them; worts. Everyone.

Keith is way way better then people think the guy is one of the only guys on the team right now who is + and he his contract is only 2 years left, I feel like people forget that, and Ceci has been alright Barrie is a bad DEFENSEMAN not PLAYER, Warren Foegele and Zach Hyman and guys like Holloway, Savoie, Petrov, and Tullio are on the way

the fact that we could by out Neal was a big part of that trade because we could get rid of his contract with out having to give a first that turns into Seth Jarvis, at least Neal can still skate unlike Lucic who btw has been invisible in the BOA since that trade especially in the goalie fight game

In sports - you have to watch carefully the wounded/'beaten' team(s).
Especially when they still have racetrack left in front of them

In NHL - think LA, which squeaked into the 8th & won Stanley.

OIL should take this as a rally - Why Not Us and burn all the other clubs down.

Overall, West is weak and easy pickings. SCF is not a stretch if you roll at the right time...

YTD tops in the West:
COL - done jacksh*t come playoffs
NSH - in rebuild, happy to be looking down at clubs
StL - need a save
MINNY - see COL
Vegas - the X-factor club The new Oakland Raiders of the NHL

I think Nashville could be a dark horse. They got what 20mill cap to spend, Saros has been solid, they got I believe the best depth scoring numbers, and they got a solid Dcore that they could add to.

If they decide to spend at the deadline and bring in some big pieces, I think Vegas and Colorado got some competition lul

Could be but:

I think they (NSH) also fit into the COL/MINNY slots shown above ^ ^ ...

And to be honest, if the OIL could get a save or two (or buy it at the TDL) the WEST is Open for Business, Rocking is their Business; Business is Good!...

Same. I think Stamkos is one of the best ever.

Stamkos is my brother's favorite player and has been that throughout his career, and I also like the guy.

Such a legend. And still the only player in modern hockey able to score that 60 goals.

I'd say that's happening this year.

Yeah, that’s a suspension, dirty, unnecessary hit

Yes please, a 10 game suspension would be great!

Was thinking about this earlier:

What is a team in your favorite team's division that you have a soft spot for?

for me its CBJ, even when Washington was playing them in 2018. NJ a bit as well.

The Senators

The others :

Panthers - don't really care but they're fun recently
Lightning - Meh
Bruins - Neutral
Maple Leafs - Unbearable
Red Wings - Dislike some of their fans' arrogance
Sabres - Don't really care

Mine's pretty much a reversal of yours. I have a soft spot for the Caps, since i have a really good friend on Discord that roots for them.

I miss this era so much, it feels like ages ago. When people would just gather outside of the Bell Centre and watch the games through a restaurant's windows. It was such a refreshing fun amidst all the covid things boredom that's been going on for 2+ years.

EDM - burn
VAN - burn
CGY - nice horse losers
SEA - poverty franchise
VGK - poverty franchise
LA - nice chrome domes dickheads
ANA - bring back the mighty ducks

Tbf tho it’s probably Calgary or the Ducks.

Woulda been cool to drive over to Montreal if they pushed the series deeper. Was a fun story (and celebration).

Btw - two sevenlegs liked my post above. It’s not longer a conspiracy, we’re onto you, you communist.
