Is this team a contender

Description
The jets let copp walk since some team probably offers him more than the jets can afford.

Dillon and Stanley are moved out to make room for heinola and Samberg. Dillon should be able to return about as much as the jest gave up for him. I chose the bruins since they need ld the most (in my opinion). As for Stanley, gms love size and most importantly, love overpaying for it. Hence I’m moving Stanley for a mid-late first. I know it’s an overpay, but I think some gm might come around and offer chevy that. Otherwise, he’s probably worth about a 2nd.

I went out and got tuch to shore up the forward group. It’s a heavy price, but once again he has size, and that comes at the premium in the nhl.

I also resigned stastny cause the jets would be stupid to let him go in my opinion.

I think the biggest question marks would be backup goaltending and ld, though I’m personally comfortable handing the reigns to the young guys.

Stanley won’t return a 1st
Dillon is probably more of a 2nd and 3rd or 4th.
I’d love Tuch.

Winnipeg shouldn’t be spending any assets this year. Roll the roster and youth we have and see what happens.

This is next year. And I am running the youth.

And as I said in the description, I personally think that there is a possibility of stably returning a 1st and I’m pretty confident that Dillon returns the same as what we got him for. I mean, chevy had to have outbid someone right? It’ll be close to what we gave, if not equal.

I have been saying for a while now that there is at least one gm that would give up a 1st for Stanley
I feel like Dillon has played better this year than he did in Washington last year, so I think we could get 2 2nd's back at least if not more
BUF won't be giving up Tuch for a while. They just got him and he is going to be part of their leadship group.
I like brining back Stastny but only on a 1 year deal.

I agree with what you said. However, I signed stastny for 2 years to sign him for cheaper.

I think he would sign $2.5M or less on a 1 year deal

Buffalo pass, we don't trade Tuch, he is a good player and a local guy who will be important for culture.

Gee, you play Tuch as a second liner winger for four years and you really offered very little to the Sabres.......who aren't trading him anyway.
Isn't that nice, "The Jets let Copp walk". He's a UFA, Jets have no choice if he signs elsewhere. I'm guessing Wings.

If you want Alex Tuck it will cost you more than your prepared to pay. I’m thinking Cole Perfetti or Kyle Connor. You’ll say that’s outrageous, but Tuch is signed on a relatively long-term cheap contract. You’re paying for both quality and savings compared to Connor’s deal. And I don’t think you would give up Cole Perfetti unless you thought you could win now.

No this team here is not a contender, that defense has gotten smaller and the bottom six will still be as unproductive as ever.

Buffalo isn't trading Tuch and especially not for that, can try to sell the Vesalainen needs a change of scenery angle but no one is listening, the Jets sure could use a Tuch type player though.

I'd be ecstatic if Chevy can unload Dillon for what he gave up to get him, I knew that trade was unnecessary from day one.

As for Stanley idk, doubt anyone is giving a 1st for him.

Stas will get minimum wage next year....the guy is about 50

in all seriousness, his family lives in Winnipeg now and its a young one. I can't really see Stas walking for a lot of money and the Jets can't really afford any more than 1M as they have proved it this year that running with 21 or 22 guys hurts for callups and so forth

I think it will be a 1 year $1M-$1.5M
