Oilers couldn't afford Price even if you retained 50%. There's just no scenario where they can fit him under the cap this season or next

Montreal couldn't even give Price away to Seattle for free. A 25% retention doesn't change no value to a 1st and 4 prospects.

He’s not for sale, unless we use him as a part of a deal for Edmundson… if not, then he is staying with the oilers. Like Palhal said, we can’t afford that, and we are giving up so much for a goaltender that we don’t want.

Edmonton won’t trade those pieces and konovalov is needed to play in Bakersfield as edmonton has only 1 other goaltending prospect next year.
