1st, Chytil, Lundkvist. Maybe another conditional 2nd depending on how far we make it. It won’t be Schneider though. If that’s the ask we walk and keep what we got imo.

No Schneider=no deal. The price of this package would be Schneider and a first and minimum. If New York doesn’t bite, the Canucks will explore other options

That’s fine. Our team has been fine without him. Schneider isn’t happening though so look elsewhere. Also no interest in Motte.

He's Bedard's favourite player! If you have Motte, you get Bedard

NYR fans say he’s untouchable. Been trying to make trades for him for Hertl and that doesn’t work for them. Before that it was Chytil and he was “untouchable” too but now that he’s hasn’t been good rangers fans put him in a package for Hertl 🤷🏻‍♂️

Super good bottom six forward. Plays at 200% every night. Not the biggest piece of the deal but definitely a good depth piece

When has anyone claimed Chytil was untouchable?

Before the season started and even weeks into the season. Now he’s always in a package to get better players

Because JT is a consistent top15 scorer in the NHL, right? The answer is NOTHING because the Rangers have better, less expensive options.

The only better option on your team is Panarin and I can’t say he’s “cheaper” JT Miller would be tied for second on the Rangers in scoring so yeah, go ahead and tell me how the Rangers have better, cheaper options

Last I checked we were back and forth in 1st place in our division. We can spend a fraction of that and pick up Pavelski as a rental. Use the remaining pieces on Dylan Strome and keep looking forward. This isnt the only trade for the Rangers.

Lundkvist > Schneider

The thing is, while Lundqvist is a very good prospect, Schneider fits our team better as we don’t really need anymore offensive minded defencemen.

Lol ok you can look elsewhere then. The Canucks are fine with that but the last time I checked, the Rangers are indeed heavily interested in Miller. Could mean nothing, could mean something

Option 1 - Reilly Smith, will be way cheaper to acquire especially given Vegas cap issues once Eichel is ready to go
Option 2 - Tyler Toffoli, way cheaper to acquire
Option 3 - No trade at all because the Rangers don't have to make any trades unless they make sense, and the price you want for JT makes ZERO sense for the Rangers.

There you go, 3 better options.

That’s fine by the Canucks. You should tell your gm that before he accidentally makes the wrong move and trades for Miller I guess

I think youll have to accept the fact that if Miller is moved, youre not getting what you want out of it. Thus I predict a huffing and puffing tantrum out of you in a month or 2.

As a Canucks fan, I’d be less than startled but at the same time, Jim Benning isn’t steering the wheel

There is a big difference between trading for Miller and trading for Miller at the price some Canuck fans, such as yourself want for him. I have no problem trading for Miller, but if you say (as you did), the trade has to include Schneider, then there is no deal to be made and the Rangers can go elsewhere and so can Vancouver. If the trade involved Nils Lundqvist, then it would be a possibility depending on the other pieces. Chytil, Lundqvist and a 1st for Miller with some salary retention may do the trick. But that's the limit. No Schneider, no how. No Kakko, No Laffy, No Miller, period. I would think a rebuilding team would want a still young 3C who has more potential still, a grade A RD prospect and a 1st round pick for a 28 year old player. If not, no worries, the Rangers go there way and you can trade JT elsewhere.

Thank you for showing reason here. I’m still convinced a minor move is the way to go this year and the guys can get some playoff experience. It’s not like the team is old or leaving their period of contention. Adding Miller would help, but continue to suppress the young guys in my mind long term which isn’t worth it to me.
