Gavrikov

Created by: paulmull
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 12, 2022
Published: Jan. 18, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
A trade for gavrikov would probably cost something similar to what leafs paid for muzzin. He would still be signed to next season also like muzzin was

A 1st round pick plus 2b to c prospects kokkonen =durzi. Anderson = grundstrom
Gavrikov great defensive player plays big minutes and in top 10 on TOI on penalty kill this season. Could help out muzzin game out

Both ritchie and simek been healthy scratches this year and with sharks losing kane there power forward maybe ritchie could work out for them were simek becomes 7th dman

Jackets would need a massive overpay to move him. I'm talking massive. He plays too big of a role on and off the ice. While this could potentially be his value, I do not see them entertaining this offer.

I would love Gavrikov but I just can't see CBJ dealing him, especially for this package.

It’s TOR a team that can afford a multi-year, $2m scratch like that? A buyout makes more sense if you can’t clear out Ritchie without taking money back.

And I’m not too interested in Dermott. They could look add a defenseman with Fabbro currently injured, but I’m hoping they just give some of those minutes to Myers.

I actually think that sharks deal would be good for both players and both teams, i feel Ritchie would get too 9 min here and could rebound similar to Barabanov and Simek with his grit could add a solid piece to Toronto D

Simmer doesn’t really have negative value and rot Ritchie does. So no thanks.

So if the leafs did these changes next season they would have to make some major changes. With Rielly getting a 2.5 million raise this would leave 7.165 million in cap space and only 14 players signed. Kase, Sandin, Liljegren are RFA's and Campbell, Spezza, Mihkeyev, are UFA's. The leafs can only have a rental at TDL because their already in cap trouble for next season.
