Bergeron wouldn't sign that if the habs had a shot at the cup, he's certainly not going to sign it to play for a rebuild

You, along with every other Montreal fan on this site it seems, severely overvalue your players.

Dear lord Habs fans, just move onto the next step of your grief, bargaining is not your strong suit.

Kings did not attempt to even discuss a contract with Toffoli after he scored 24 goals and was traded and immediately ended up a free agent. There is no way Turcotte is getting moved unless Chychrun is coming back, especially not for a snake bitten Toffoli who was consistently streaky with the Kings.

Yeah, i bet Bergeron is psyched that his agent made sure he was drastically underpaid on his last deal

bergeron stays with bruins.
seattle asks for 2nd + ylonen for armia.
florida counters with a more reasonable price.
nyr declines they dont want and cant afford gallaghers contract.
oilers probably get it done for a 4th. a 3rd isnt crazy though.
kings pass. if they wanted toffoli they would have signed him.

Bergeron grew up a nordiques fan, loved Sakic. Which probably means he had a disdain for the Habs growing up, which most likely continued through his career being a Bruin. I think if he wanted to live in Canada, it’s more likely he retires and moves, rather than sign with a rebuilding team that he never really liked in the first place. Also - Bergeron also knows that if he does play next year it’s unlikely he’ll play with a better player than Marchand if he leaves.
