It doesn't work for Vancouver because Pinto is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury and the Canucks still have some chance of clinching a playoff spot.

It doesn't work for Ottawa because we need right-shot centres more so than left-shot wingers.

No, if Ottawa wanted Hoglander then they wouldve taken him. Ottawa's need for a right shot centre is considerably higher than their need for another left shot LW. Already have Tkachuk, Formenton and maybe Stuetzle on the left. The need is definitely down the middle right now.

Nothing against Höglander but I would hope that Ottawa doesn't touch that. It's hard to explain right now since Pinto has been missing the whole season but it will become clear how good Pinto is going to become probably as soon as next season. He's part of the quintessential top-12 skaters Ottawa is building its team around
