You would be a fool to do so. That is what McDavid would cost, not Draisaitl. This trade would vastly improve your team. It's an absolute landslide win for the Oilers. Guaranteed at least one of those players will put up close to what Draisaitl does playing shotgun to McDavid and at least 2 of the other pieces are great depth. Your defence would still suck and your long term cap is very bad, but this would make you a so much better team.

No i can guarantee u that a different team will pay a much much higher price for him.

If I was the GM of the Oilers and New York called me with this trade, I would fall out of my chair. Yup done deal. I wouldn't even bother shopping for something better. This is a terrific trade for the Oilers. I doubt there would be any lost production in the offence and potentially even more if Laf hits it off with McDavid. Hopefully Gieorgiev finds his game and that could help out as well. Get a couple of 1st as well and it's a massive massive win.

This would almost turn Edmonton into a contender. Still need work on the defence but maybe you can somehow swing another ridiculous win by moving Nurse and really knock it out of the park.

Draisaitl isn't top he plays extremely well with McDavid and does pretty well against 2nd and 3rd liners. But without the PP boost generated from playing with McDavid, he's going to fall way down the lists. I would pick a lot of players over Draisaitl. I would wager you'll get almost as many goals out of Zib and Laf and Kravstov could easily develop into top 6 players. Laff for sure. This trade would give you 3 good lines which you haven't had in the McDavid era. Draisaitl would go on and show that McDavid was responsible for much of his stats and the Rangers would be shown to lose the trade.

U obviously dont watch drai play he is a top player in the nhl he is not carried by mcdavid and he is on some nights better than mcdavid he doesn’t even play on the same line as him only on the powerplay which he is a key part of. Zib and laf would not put up as many goals as drai in fact they wouldnt even get close. Drai is currently num 1 in the nhl in goals and num 2 in points. So the oilers reject this lacklustre offer and we will keep one of the best players in the nhl on our team.

He scored 23 of his goals in the first 30 games and has come back to earth. He was shooting 33% to start the season and it was entirely unsustainable. He doesn't get carried by McDavid completely but take him away from McDavid, I mean completely away and he loses 30-40 points a season. I am not sure he would be a point a game player every season. He's very good but he benefits greatly from McDavid. Zib who is a lock for 30 goals already would be a 40 goal scorer with McDavid. Laf who absolutely isn't yet a bust could be insane with McDavid. Keep in mind Draisaitl 9 points in his first taste of NHL action and then only 51 points until he was paired with McDavid then he took off. To think McDavid wouldn't do great things for other players is just disrespectful to him. I think maximizing the return for Draisaitl could make the team so much better and keep McDavid around. The alternative is to keep sucking and watch him leave.
