Hamonic is a cap dump at this point, and you want a first?

So the ducks have no cap concerns so no way they pay a 1st to move henrique. Maybe one of those prospects from the rangers probably not both though. I hate the pitts trade. Keep hogs trade boeser if you really think you need to.

If you decline that offer then there really is no way Marino is moving.

I disagree, I think they do have cap problems, need to resign Lindholm, Manson potentially, Zegras, Troy Terry and Milano are needing new contracts soon and are good to get paid

Even Trouba knows that Schneider is planned as his replacement in 2 or 3 years when his NMC expires. Rangers are not trading Schnieder, but don't tell that to Vancouver or Habs fans, because they have raging hard ons for him.

Theyre what 11 million under the cap right now. Plus henrique can be bought out for less than 2 million on the cap a season. His contract isnt worrying anyone enough to eat that 1st.

    41M in cap space next season, I don't think it's a concern.

Anaheim has no cap problem. We have 13 players under contract for next year and $42 million in cap space. We wouldn't have to pay a fifth to facilitate a Henrique trade.

In a video game trade world if the Pens had a subsequent move or signing guaranteed to replace Marino then sure, they'd probably jump at this, but the Pens defense would suffer more than this trade helps.

You’re so wrong. Plenty of cap and no worries. Don’t try and make this trade seem agreeable in anyway

Henrique deal makes zero sense. Also you clearly have not watched him play. He's not a cap dump. Positive value. And that's if the ducks wanted to move him. Which I would be surprised if they did. Here's an idea- keep the hardworking two-way forward that is still productive around for the young players. Wild thought.

"bUt HeS bEeN oN wAiVeRs" ignoring the fact that putting him on waivers was one of many things that essentially led to Bob Murray being exposed for what he was

It's a great deal, like I said, but if you move Marino the next best RHD for the Pens is now Ruhwedel. How do you remedy that? And I mean in a realistic manner, not the CF "They'll figure it out" manner. Who's available and how do you get them?

Pens resign Letang and sign Klingberg in the offseason?

Pens won't have the cap space. Even with Zucker moved out, Boeser likely makes around the $6M mark (give or take) if he goes to arbitration, so it's basically a wash with Zucker's contract. Essentially, they have the same amount of money to spend as they are on Marino and Klingberg will certainly be getting close to double that.

Considering this is an offseason move you have free agency open. There are plenty of decent 2nd pair RD options on the market and I think Boeser/Hoglander make a significantly larger impact than Marino/Zucker moving forward.

Not to be a diack, but have you actually looked at this UFA RHD crop? It's not great by any means. It's deep-ish in quality LHD's, but very thin when it comes to RHDs.

Yes, but Marino isn't exactly the same impact player he was in his rookie season. At this point Schultz provides just as much impact. Boeser is a true top line scorer and Hoglander becomes our best forward prospect by a good margin.
