I don't think Keith waives to Detroit. He wanted to be closer to home and he is farther away f he waives

Campbell isn't signing that contract with the Oilers, he will ask for $7M-$8M if he decides to leave Toronto, which I doubt he does.

Both of those deals are brutal for the oilers.

Yamo and a 2nd to dump Kassian? Pass

I feel like I’m missing something on the Detroit deal. A 1st, two 2nds and a top prospect just to dump 1 year of Keith? Wtf am I missing?

Unless those prospects are something valuable
Coming from Detroit, you just moved a 1st, three 2nds and Bourgault to dump Kassian and Keith? That’s shockingly dumb

No shot Keith waives

At that point with Arizona just upgrade the 2nd to a 1st and add Broberg to get Chychrun.

Just sign JP to a 1 year deal and pay him when Keith comes off the books.

Could always buyout Keith.

No Detroit buying him out so Keith wouldn’t be playing there and could sign where ever he wanted.

He would not be allowed to sign in Edmonton then.

I feel like that's not worth the cost for Edmonton to move him though.

He could potentially (eg Orpik) but there couldn’t be any clear intention before the trade.

The most aggressive free agent goalie in the last few years was 6 Million x 7 Years. Toronto doesnt have 7 million for a goalie.

The Leafs will easily find a way to lock up Campbell and I think he will take a discount. Last season, Dubas was willing to give Zach Hyman $5.5M (when everyone said they had no cap space) but it was the NMC that stopped the signing from happening

I don't think he will take 4 million instead of 6 to play in Toronto. He's 30 and has been largely underpaid until now. Campbell is from michigan not Toronto which is the reason why many players take a discount to play there. His next contract will be his only substantial contract so I would say he needs to make sure he gets paid.

If it wasn't for the Leafs, he wouldn't be where he is today

He was a very good goalie before the leafs but it certainly helped him get noticed. His past relationship with Dubas definitely helped. He was grown in the dallas stars prospect pool and LA gave him his start in the NHL. I I was his agent i wouldn;t accept less than 6 x 7.

The guy deserves to be paid. And as previously mentioned, he hasn’t had a pay day his whole career and he’s 30.
Unless you’ve had talks with him or his agent, bold to claim “he will take a discount”. It’s not like he was drafted and developed by the leafs. The guy deserves to be paid and looking at the goalie market, he’s the best option available by a mile. So he’s got lots on his side in terms of negotiations
