Hertl with an extension in place plus Reimer will cost way more than that. A 1st rounder in 3 years, a projected 3 line prospect, at best top 4 D and a 3C doesn’t get Hertl with an extension alone imo.

This makes Detroit worse. I'm sorry but with Draisaitl and McDavid Edmonton currently isn't a playoff team and has no cups with them. So I just don't see how this is good for Detroit.

You don't really think that EDM's problem is Drai & McDavid, do you? It's their defense, goaltending, and bottom 6 depth. This improves those.

I would agree with you, but I did state that this assumes that Hertl will not re-sign with SJ. So SJ comes out with what you said (except I disagree on Suter being a 3C; I'd argue middle 6 C or LW) instead of Hertl just walking on 7/1.

No I was just saying 1 player can't carry a team anymore and giving up that much for 1 doesn't make sense.

On a good team Suter is a 3rd liner whether that’s c or lw. If the sharks trade Hertl with an extension in place prior to the trade it will have to be a much better package with an earlier 1st unless it’s the 2024 1st with zero protections

Hertl, top 10 pick, Hronek, Reimer, Namestnikov, and a 2nd for him to go play with a couple of his fellow countrymen? I don't think it's that insulting.
