With the reports out there about JT Miller, I doubt the Rangers grab Pavelski unless the Miller thing falls though.

It's the most common Klingberg trade suggested by Leafs fans on this site (Holl+Robertson+1st for half-retained Klingberg). I added Kiviranta for a low pick to be nice and to even out the value.

Yeah if they go after Miller then Pavelski is not happening of course

Unless they really want to go ham on the playoffs and a cup run and send 2022 1st to VAN and 2023 1st to DAL.

Pavs to NYR is good, but I don’t like the return. With the RHD depth the rangers have, they could part with a RHD prospect. That’s what Dallas lacks.

DAL also lacks in goal scoring prospects. I can see a new Gurianov coming in Pajuniemi, which is also something DAL needs.

I think Pavelski would be a better fit in boston than Radulov, Boston is still looking for a centre to replace Krecji (spelling my bad lol), and Pavelski has played centre for the majority of his career in San Jose.

Sure, but I don't think Bruins could afford taking him without retention, which was one of the main reasons I moved him to Rangers.

Check out my Dallas retooling, I was able to move both Pavelski and Radulov to boston with retention for a decent return. Let me know what you think

On what planet?!!? Leafs should take this deal in a heart beat! Klingberg > Holl - compensation to even the value out is Robertson - #1 pick comp for the retention + Kivirantha - GIDDY UP!

Leafs should then sign Klingberg to a 3 or 4 year deal for around $5m-$6m (if possible). He would be an excellent compliment to Muzzin on the 2nd pairing. Allowing Muzzin to only focus on the defensive side of things - which is what he does best - when paired with Holl he has to worry about defense and transition and offense- too much for Jake to handle.

Wyatt Johnston seems a fit for the need. Mavrik and Stankoven are probable if size isn’t an issue. It just seems that Pajuniemi is slated as a mid six which seems to be the composition of our whole forward group outside of Robo, Hintz, and Pavs. I would like to see Dallas do a Newy / Iginlia trade where we receive the A+ prospect. It could happen with all the quality we have to sell this year.

You are 100% right. Last night was the obvious example. But we are so thin at D in the prospect pool. I mean, beside Harley there is squat compared to the forward front where we have Bourque, Stankoven, Johnston, Damiani, etc.

If you trade Holl though we don't need the retention. I know it appears that way on capfriendly but that is only because the accrued space isn't shown. Also Holl isn't a cap dump. He had a rough start to the season but has rebounded nicely. He has value without a doubt. If you want this package it would have to be Ritchie instead of Holl.

If Klingberg could be signed for 3 to 4 years @ 5M$-6M$ he would not be on the block. He would have already signed with Dallas.

Supposedly, he is asking for a 8 * 8 deal.

They can't afford that contract. Klingberg would be a one off deadline acquisition. Which I am not against but this trade doesn't make a lot of sense. With Holl going the other way, they technically don't need retention and with Klingberg's decline in play (personally I think it's a system thing opposed to his actual ability) his value is reduced. Holl has rebounded and has been a good player for TO for the past couple of seasons. Holl is without question better than some of the guys getting thrown around on this site. (Braun, Chiarot, Mayfield etc).

So if Dallas offered this, I would say instead of Holl we'll give you Ritchie. Which would make it a 1st and Robertson for Klingberg and a 2nd to take on Ritchie who has a very favorable buyout. Hell Ritchie could even prove to be decent in the Dallas system. Holl could then be flipped for something else. No need to move Holl and ask for retention.

Holl vs Ritchie = $500k difference.

Klingberg is demanding to be traded out of Dallas - who says he would re-sign there if he was willing to do a 3 or 4 by $5-$6. And right now... BIG difference between where Dallas is at and where Toronto is at re: Stanley Cup aspirations!

Because the issue early in the season wasn’t the money Dallas was willing to pay? It was the term. If Klingberg was willing to take 3-4 years, Dallas would have given him that contract in the offseason or earlier this year.

He may want out of Dallas now, but negotiations stalled earlier this year due to the fact that Dallas wouldn’t go 8 years on his contract.

Reports say Klingberg wants a contract similar to Hedman. If he agreed to such numbers you suggested DAL would've re-signed him a long time ago.
