Unreal but interesting to entertain

Description
Byram Francouz for Dach MAF

I know it’s unrealistic but Colorado has enough cap problems considering what Byram could cost them price tag wise. Yet he’s had some rough injuries early on. I don’t dislike COL by any means but they’re roster on paper has been missing that Stanley Cup/steal a game or two per series goaltending.

Meanwhile Chicago rides 1 good proven line and a couple decent d pairs to a high draft pick for Columbus :)

Adding Byram and Dach into the mix for a G rental is very overkill. If COL wants Fleury they will offer picks/prospects, they arent going to move a potential #1 D man in a trade like this

While I wouldn't mind De Haan on the Isles it is hard to envision Trotz benching either Greene or Chara for him.

agree, no need to over complicant a goalie move here

And in regards to Dach Byram...I dont think either team wants to make that swap

we read the title, but cant fan bases have a general conversation about the concept of the trade

just bc it says unrealistic doesnt mean people cant comment on the actual trade.

Ahh I see you’re point of view now. I know both aren’t interested in it. But Dach on COL second line and MAF in net are two things no other teams would like to see happen come time to play them. And Chicago needs to tank and rebuild so Byram is quite the prize to go for.

I mean COL isn’t doing that, but what I think is ironic is I think if CHI had taken Byram I think COL picks Dach at the time.

Toews, Strome, Suter, Kampf, Borgstrom etc. I don’t think dach was the right choice now in hindsight.

Yeah... I know hindsight is 20/20, but imagine if we had drafted one of Byram, Zegras, Podkolzin, Cozens, Seider... Those are all real possibilities.

I like Byram, but I don't think he would be as efficient in our lineup and system. Its all about fits for these young players coming in. I would have really liked to see Dach not get rushed but it happened and now we have to be patient as he finds his game in the NHL and builds into that 1-2C we are craving as Toews gets older.

I wouldn’t give up on Dach just yet, yeah they rushed him but kid has oodles of talent. He’s just getting ready to turn 21 and he has a unique talent set that he is going to grow into and be a load to handle. I think to often teams expect those top 10 guys to come in and dominate immediately and for some they just need to finish maturing and figure it out.

I totally agree, we just have to be patient with him and let him blossom. He is a key piece in the future of our franchise.

I think the values good but considering the isles are basically eliminated from the playoffs theyd be selling rentals not buying.
