Minnesota isn't trading fiala during the season! Fiala will only be traded for a better player, nothing less. Fiala will be traded during the offseason.
No, from wild! They aren't trading fiala for a lw prospect and 1st round pick! Fiala is only available for a 1st round pick and top c prospect or top 6c, nothing less. Minnesota doesn't need a LW or any wing prospect

think those are pretty easy no's on the majority of the trades, Boston trade is a no from Ottawa. Ottawa isn't trading a high pick and a decent prospect for the 24 pts Debrusk has put up over his "prove it" bridge (80 games). His Qualifying offer is also 4.5M, so thats also a massive negative for Melnyk, as he wouldn't want to pay a massively underachieving player 4.5M to play in Ottawa's Bottom 6.

No from Minny, see post above.

Tierney and Ennis aren't worth 3rds. Both are depth guys and can easily be acquired for less than a 3rd (maybe a 4th for Tierney if you retain 50%)

Lastly Colin White and his injury history arent worth a 1st + Decent Prospect

I can see the rebuild being over after this year, but even then, you shouldn’t go and blow up and gather a bunch of contracts. Build through your prospects. Let them develop. Getting one too 6 forward is good, like Claude Giroux for example, but don’t go and grab a whole bunch of stuff that you don’t need. They have a bunch of cap, so they don’t need to dump players. I think Murray will be okay, once the prospects on the defence develop more, but even then, he could probably be the backup for a while!

laugh laugh #29 OA says otherwise and adding DeBrusk and Fiala doesn't improve the team that much.

I chose Debrusk because I know he wants out of Boston and he kinda fits the build of just gritty forwards in Ottawa.

What you said could be completely true, but the problem Ottawa has right now is that they've been bad for so long to the point that they almost have too many prospects, and not all of them are going to get the opportunity or ice time they need/deserve amongst their vast prospect pool and already solidified young core. Something similar is happening in LA right now.

They almost have too many prospects, I figure that soon enough they'll have to bundle some of them up to get already solidified NHLers, so I thought the way that made the most sense was acquiring the guys who reportedly already want out of their teams but are still RFA's.

Lol, that Melnyk not wanting to pay thing is pretty accurate. I figure that Debrusk as a "gritty" forward just kinda fits the current build of the Sens. I agree that most of the time Tierney and Ennis wouldn't be worth 3rd's, but I feel like the demand for depth guys like them increases around the deadline which is when they would most likely be traded. Tierney also used to be pretty good, not sure what happened in recent years, maybe he could pick it back up with some new scenery. Colin White thing is pretty true, I just needed to make some space on the right side and knew that Sens fans would attack me for trading him for anything less than a 1st.
