One issue is Vlasic’s Dad has been on record saying Vlasic would never play for the Habs. Who knows what his feelings are and if they have changed.

I don't think Price waives to go to SJ. It;s gotta be Western Canada, Seattle or a team that's competitive now

Maybe not, but this would get him a lot closer to home. If this were the only option he might do it.

You're right on Geography..........I've done the flight from SJ to VAN and it's not bad at all. Weather is better than MTL too LOL. I just think Price probably doesn't want to go from one rebuild to another. Both teams are cap strapped.

Sharks might not do a Vlasic-Price swap 1-for-1 let alone trading away a 1st and one of their best prospects too.

And that’s before we factor in the NMCs

But San Jose isn’t rebuilding though. They can’t rebuild. Would be impossible.

You do have a point there thanks to those large contracts they have on the books. IF they could move some of those big contracts, they'd embrace a rebuild, but they might just be stuck status quo for a few years

So I guess the question would be do they try to compete in a very very weak division during those few years (they’re currently a playoff team), and if so would getting a goalie who elevated himself and the team during the playoffs be the right move. Not saying it’s the route I would go personally, but I think there is some logic there. Btw this trade proposal was suggested by a writer in the Athletic. San Jose wouldn’t give up Bourdeleau. But maybe they would give up Weisblatt.

I loved the Weisblatt pick when SJ did it just cause of the story. They'd probably be ok moving him. Vlasics play has really deteriorated over the last couple years. but, I guess it is a lower cap hit.
