Pens literally have zero need for Miller yet you guys keep sending him to us.

Hard pass from Colorado. A 1st, a 3rd, and a 6th for a 7th defenseman and a depth forward? No thanks.

These BUF fans are as relentless with sending us Miller as when TOR fans kept sending us Rielly when we didn't need him either.

You are all correct.
It may be best when making a post as this to lump the UFA's into one trade and guess at the returns.
@Sabres_Insider in general is very reasonable with his guesses.
@Android_H_Jones Bowers may have been a first round pick 5 years ago, but do you think he will ever be in Avs line up?
Out of the top 34 players selected that year, he is the ONLY one to not play a single NHL game and has only 14 points in his last 40 AHL games.
Let me add, MacKinnon has only one more goal this year than Hinostroza (on pace for 20 goals), hardly the hall mark of a "depth" forward.
IMO Buffalo will get more than a third, fifth and bust for Vinnie and Robert.

I just don't think enough people take the time to look at the other team's roster or cap situation. It's one thing if people are not familiar with players coming up through another team's farm system or in the know about the GM's plans, but it's so simple to take a look at a roster, cap space, and maybe just a general sense for how teams are performing.

Also, being a little Pens-centric, I think people forget that Rutherford is not our GM anymore lol. Hextall is literally the antithesis of Rutherford.

I completely agree, many ACGM's try to post trades LHD or LW to Buffalo.
Other than Jokiharju at RHD and Tuch and Okposo at RW Buffalo does not have any other players signed at those two positions..
If I were to make a post for the Sabres I would trade Butcher, Hagg, Hinostroza, Eakin, Miller and Pysyk for 6ht, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 2nd 3rd to any team and in the description make it clear that the trade was to many teams not a specific team.
In general the trades the @Sabres_Insider makes are more reasonable than other Sabre ACGM's, I think he must have read some place that the Penguins needed a RHD.
Please correct my misconception, because I thought they could use more depth at LHD.

The Pens currently have five LHD's under contract: Dumoulin, Matheson, Pettersson, Riikola and POJ
RHD: Letang, Marino, Ruhwedel and Friedman

Ruhwedel may not be a sexy name in hockey but he's absolutely killing it this year. Fans, both non-Pens and Pens fans may not feel comfortable, but we now have a large sample size over the last two years and he's been nothing but consistent. While Miller has more production, I went and did a comparison on natural stat trick and Ruhwedel is FAR outperforming Miller in ever facet of their overall game. Not to mention when called upon Friedman has been outstanding. Miller would be a disastrous pairing with Matheson. Matheson needs a Ruhwedel-type dman to makeup for his weaknesses which is also why Matheson is having a great season.

Every chance I had I would watch the Penguins (they would be my second team) it made me sick to see how well Ruhwedel played knowing Murray let him go along with every other good defenseman we had other than McCabe.
I thought Friedman was a solid performer also when I saw him play.
Thank you for your feed back.
I think from the get go I agreed that Pitt was not a good landing spot for Miller.

There's a lot of dumb GM's out there, so I wouldn't be shocked if you're right.

That being said, Sakic and his management team are not one of them. Robert Haag is awful and Hinostroza has only eclipsed 30pts once in his career. Comparing him to MacKinnon in any facet (especially since MacK has played 9 less games and averages more goals per season the Hinostroza does points) is a joke.

I do not want to get into a food fight, instead let me add more facts.
I get to watch Vinnie every game, he is more than a depth player.
He is smart, makes good decisions, knows how to make the most of his talents because he is not a depth forward.
I was not comparing him to Nathan only that his goal production playing with a team that cannot score while getting only 14 min/gm is very good and is much more than a depth forward would produce.
His 0.9 goals/60 ties him with Panarin, Miller, Killorn, Kopitar and others top line wingers, he is not a depth forward.
At the TDL a GM who is looking for a forward who could play RW on any line, I do not think a second is out of the question as he is not a depth forward.
Let me close, at the TDL he will only add $250,000 to the cap, if he has 14 goals at the start of the TDL, you can be sure there will be more than one GM asking about his availability.
