I keep seeing these Montreal trades where you guys think he's worth of a 1st as a rental, but seriously would Montreal trade a 1st for him as a rental if they were in cup contention?

probably they would. and he'll go for a first because he's proven himself in the playoffs and GM get horned up when they see a 6'3 220 plus big body d-man. i think the only other good rental would be klingberg but he'd go for much higher. another thing is that according to the athletic, chiarot is willing to play on another canadian team. he has a limited ntc i believe so he choose his own destination. i can see edmonton, florida, carolina, jersey, LA, maybe even rangers try and acquire him. he'll fetch a 1st at minimum.
