I still am not sure the Rangers would do that trade, but credit where credit's due, its a lot closer than most of the recent MTL-NYR trade proposals on here

The Rangers and Kraken would obviously scoff at those "offers".

Petry's wife and kids just went back home to Michigan due to Covid, and you honestly think he's going some 2,400 miles from them for the next 3 years or so to Seattle. Yeah not happening bud. And LOL on the Klingberg signing for 5 x $7,500,000 when he wants either 7 x $8,000,000 or 7 x $9,000,000 for your low ball signing he stays with Dallas.

Yes I know... but he is turning 30... I can't see any team giving him 7x9m.... it would be 4-5y x 8-9m... or 7y x lower price like 6.5m= Total cost in between 40-50M

Going after Lundkvist is key... Sanderson should jump in next season playing behind Fox (him and Makar are GOAT at RD) & Trouba

If he were willing to take anything less than an 8-year deal (or 7 if he hits UFA market), Dallas would have him re-signed already. The issue earlier in the year wasn't the money that he wanted, it was the fact that Dallas wasn't willing to give him a max length contract.

Rangers and Arizona decline. Calgary accepts. I can see the rational for the Seattle trade but i'm not sure they do it.

I don’t see Seattle and Montreal as good trading partners.

I wonder if Minnesota and Montreal can work something around Petry in the off-season. With Goligoski coming off the books, you can allocate 5M towards Petry. Montreal maybe retain the difference so 1.5M retained.

Petry at 5M for 3 years is a good deal. He’d fit in in Minnesota as he likes the outdoors and he wouldn’t be too far from Michigan either.

Just kind of thought of that now but wonder if it’s of interest to Minnesota…big, mobile right shot defensemen

Some of them have been pretty freaking bad so it’s nice to see someone with some semblance of sanity
