Murphy is barely an upgrade for TO and definitely isn't a 4+ million dollar defenceman. This is a terrible trade for TO utterly horrible. Muzzin is 10 x the player Murphy is and didn't go for this much.

The Leafs should not make any major moves like this. Let them figure it out. They had help every year and for nothing.It’s just wasted assets.

The Leafs will have no chance against the Panthers or Lightning at this current state and this is Dubas' final year as a GM if he doesn't get past the first round (he even admitted it himself in one podcast during the offseason). While the Panthers and Lightning are figuring out how to add at the deadline, it would be embarrassing if the Leafs tried to work from within as their big deadline add. The Leafs will have to add someone if they want to compete with one of the Florida teams

Well the Lesfs are not 1 RD away from beating FLA or TBL in a 7 game series. They are a good looking team when Campbell is playing like a Vezina goalie. The top nine is ok. If they can fix the 4th line and add a depth D.

For me losing is the 1st round could be a blessing in finally breaking up the core
