Hawks probably want a little bit more for Murphy. Hes not a pure rental and has 4 years of control, so there is no urgency to move him unless we get the right deal

Kills me that even fellow oilers fans devalue Barrie to that extent. It’s truly sad. Right handed puck moving d are worth a fortune. Blows me away that fans want to move what we spent the better part of 15 years trying to get. What’s even more mind blowing is Barrie was the name for many years of being exactly what we need. Not only did he come here on his own free will he then lead all d in points and signed a very reasonable extension to stay. This is one good reason why we just don’t deserve to have nice things seem to run them out of town the second things start going bad.

Can't see hawks giving up Murphy for that. This is the return the hawks would want for flower half retained. I'd say Murphy on a 4 year contract is worth more than flower.

In theory, the Blues should take it. However, 1) they don't have the cap for it, 2) they are NOT trusting Smith with the #2 job, 3) Yamamoto isn't a need at all, he doesn't really fit the team style and has been meh for a couple seasons now & 4) the Blues are not going to harm their own chances while fixing a problem for a potential West playoff match-up.

Valid, but the timing is just wrong.
With Bouchard's emergence you now have two RD in need of sheltering and are missing at least a strong defensive partner on the left to pair with Barrie.
Otherwise you could bump him to third pairing and use him on the PP, limiting his 5v5 exposure.

He’s also in the bottom 3% in the league I’m 5x5 shot suppression and somehow McDavids line is less productive when he is on the ice with them. He’s basically a PP specialist that has to be managed with a contract that is not team friendly.

Exactly just need a strong defensive partner for him. As Holland has said the answers are in the room. Nurse can and has been much better than he’s been this year. Honestly no point this season have I considered him the best which is a big problem. When nurse is playing at his capability nobody is complaining about Barrie. Great pairing. I wouldn’t rule out klef attempting a return which is another responsible defensive left d. Tippett is developing bouchards defensive game moving Barrie shifts bouchards role away from that. Bouchard is still young with LOTS of years ahead of him rushing now just seems taking away from what he could really be.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Ken Holland overpays for him he did it for Duncan Keith so I don’t see why he wouldn’t with MAF

Blues need to get better this makes them worse. Please rethink your idea on a deal with Husso.
