two contracts deemed untradeable but in this case it works. I think Seguin for EK could be good for both clubs.
SJ may end up finding a way into the playoffs and then resigning Hertl but Kilingberg is leaving so better to get some picks / prospects.

If Hertl and Klingberg aren't part of the exchange then I'd want SJ to retain part of EK's contract so that the cap hits don't change. In this case it'd be $1,65M. Other than that it'd be a fresh old hockey trade.

Similar kind to Dubois - Laine one.

Sharks say hell no x100. Seguin is beat up and no where near the same player, Karlsson has turned it around this year, and Klingberg is a rental. Sharks could get futures for Hertl instead of getting older with more cap. Highly doubt Klingberg would sign in San Jose

And you don't think Seguin couldn't turn it out too in a new system? Because I think that is exactly what he needs. He doesn't fit under Bowness' system at all. It's no real secret that his numbers started to decrease significantly after Montgomery got sacked, even before his hip surgery.

The guy still has it. He's just in the wrong environment for now, and he's also been quite unlucky this year.

I’m not sure the sharks can take that gamble, it’s a rather big gamble. If the options were 5 years of seguin at almost $10 mil or resign Hertl for 5 years, I’m all over Hertl. That hip surgery is no joke.

You better place Baby Suter at the left of EK on your pairing.

Suter might go cry to the owner if he plays on the right side with Lindell.

This guy has his special requirements smile

This one is tough but I feel like both teams are better off riding it out on their own bad contracts and getting futures for their expiring good players

I'm not blaming you for making that decision. Everyone would lol.

Just saying that calling Seguin beat up isn't exactly the whole truth

As long as it would lead him to make a trade request and waive that NMC I'm all for making his life on ice absolutely miserable.

Sure I'd probably be game if the cap hits won't change. We need RHDs so freaking bad.

The risk of taking on Seguin just isn’t worth it now that Karl is playing elite hockey again.

Interesting trade though.
