You think the worst team in the NHL is going to trade one of their highest upside young guys, a guy their new GM name dropped to build around, for a rental?

That's quite the leap in logic.

hertl won't sign that, minnesota's not trading hartman, montreal holds on to caufield. no way you get two seconds from arizona for the combo of nemeth, hunt and reaves, you should be paying the seconds with those players.

Minnesota isn't trading Hartman at all! Arizona and Montreal aren't stupid and won't do that

That Montreal trade is aggressively moronic. Strome is a ufa this offseason why would the habs pay a top end assets to acquire someone they could just sign.

I’m going to ask again. Are you sure your second favorite team is the Canadiens

Yes, lets trade Ryan Reaves because all he does is install a backbone into the entire team. What a joke.

Quote from an article in The Athletic today:

"Hartman’s 23 five-on-five points are identical to Connor McDavid. Don’t be surprised if Hartman’s productions slows — his on-ice shooting percentage of 14.4 percent is the highest in the NHL and will come down — but the underlying numbers also show that he’s been a legitimate fit on the top line regardless."

He has been incredible this year. As the article implied, I doubt he keeps producing like this, but at a $1.7M cap hit even if he didn't produce a single point for the rest of the season he would still have a solid contract. There's just no reason to trade him. And if a team wants him, they are going to pay something ridiculous to get him (and what is in this proposal isn't ridiculous).
