LOL... two guys that can hardly make 3 ft passes playing with the best goal scorer in the world.

Makes a lot of sense.

Habs pass. It's a really good offer to be honest but I don't think Anderson is the kind of player they're going to move at the moment (but I could be wrong!)

Agreed. Can’t trade a power forward like that to a rival.

That's managed to only stay healthy enough to play 2 full seasons in his career.

He was hurt for 5 weeks and also playing for the worst team in the league (offensively and in the standings)

But it’s easy to make any player look bad when you cherry pick stats lol. The whole Habs team has struggled this year and while only one point a head of Engvall…..he has played 7 less games.

He has only had more than 30 points in a season. That’s correct and also a cherry picked stat. Last season he played 52 games and had 24 points….17 goals. The season before 47 points in 82games…..27 goals. This season he’s played 27 games 14 points….8 goals. Over 82 that’s average 24 goals ….42 points

By far not the best player in the league but not the slug you want to make him out to be. Oh and he played 22 games in the playoffs last season……more than Mathews, Marner and Tavares combined (see how cherry picking stats look?) lol

Pierre Engvall is a 4th liner who gets like 8 mins less of ice time a game and doesnt play on the first or even 2nd power play unit

Not saying he’s a great player. Just making a point about cherry picking stats.

who is cherry picking stats? Every stat i used, save the engvall one, was a career based stat. He literally has one season more than 30 points. Last season his 24 points was tied for 200th in the entire league while making 5.5 million a year and getting top line and top power play minutes. Cherry picking is when you pick a single stat and pretend that's his career, like, oh i dunno the one good year he ever had like habs fans love to.
He's not even an above average top 6er at this point and the trade is ludicrously lopsided towards the habs.

First off, no team is retaining on 5 more years of a player and secondly, I dont think Tor can even afford this....

So we can all debate till the cows come home, the premise of the trade doesn't work.

oh? know them all personally eh? Is that why the best offer available for him in trade was a disgruntled underperfoming max domi when he was traded? I mean, if he was so coveted you'd think one of the other 30 gms out there would have beaten the offer, but hey who wouldnt want to over pay for a guy who cant score at a good top 6 rate despite being given all the icetime chances in the world, the best linemates on his team and who is not good in his own end.

MTL were 24th the year Domi got traded (in the offseason). Domi still managed 17 goals & 44 points after putting 72 points the year before. So yes, Domi was a good piece for CBJ and MTL HAD to add a 3rd RD pick to make it done. Domi was considered like a top 6 Center and Anderson was coming off a shoulder surgery and a 1 goal season. So imagine the price of Anderson healthy and coming off a good season

oh wow, a 3rd rounder and a guy who basically demanded a trade for a guy who scores like a low end 2nd liner when he's playing well. the leafs dont want him and the habs can keep him and his terrible contract

99% of Habs fans wants to keep him. You always look at points but Anderson is wayyyy better than Toffoli but Toffoli put more points. It’s not all points
